one of the saab techs comes up and asks me for a price on a key and remote for a newer model 03+ (9440) 9-3 sports sedan for a service customer. i say ok, enter the numbers, and see i still don't have any of the remotes in-stock with 17 on order (the keys i know i don't have cause they have to be laser cut by saab, special order only crap, blah). now i'm thinking the last time i looked this up a week or so ago i had 17 on order, and they should've been in by now...
so i get onto the intraweb, into the saab dealer services site to check on the order the remotes are on. enter the number, and see that the promise (order) date was 6.27.05! well now i'm thinking that shit, i should definitely have those by now since stock orders only take 3-4 days to come in from the PDC (parts distribution center). now i'm thinking they're probably on backorder, and click over to another screen to check the PDC's inventory on the remotes to check...
enter the part number (again, i know, entering numbers is mainly what my job entails
), and find that they are in fact on backorder. but not just a normal backorder, not just intergalactic backorder (what we say when there's a couple hundred pieces on b/o), it's on fucking super-flaming-fantastic-intergalactic backorder!!!!count em... nearly 2,400 pieces on backorder for these remotes.
way to go on that one saab.... *cough* gm sucks *cough*
