RedBox rant.

Post by MyNeonSaysHi » Sat Apr 26, 2008 4:04 pm

Okay, we just got RedBox a month or so ago here in Gardner. Theres one at Price Chopper (grocery store) and McDonalds. I recently discovered it and rented my first video. Cake. Took it back, no problems. Can't beat a $1 for a new release! I am starting to rent movies from it on a weekly basis and I am starting to get upset. People are SLOW.

For instance. I go there today and there are 2 people in front of me. 1 being a Harley Davidson oldy and a middle aged woman behind him waiting. The Harley Davidson dude is just browsing and browsing. After about 5 minutes he just leaves without renting anything. Up next was the woman thinking she knew what she wanted since she had 5 or so minutes to look at the damn board that shows the new releases. Ohhh no! She searches and searches and reads the description of like 4 movies. Then her husband/boyfriend or whatever comes up and gives her the credit card so she could rent the damn movie she chose. I get up there and choose my movie and pay for it within a minute. Yes I diserve a cookie.

Slow people who can't make a decision over a $1 movie piss me off! :cussing:

Please, if you are going to rent a movie at RedBox, know what you are going to rent before hand. K thanx

/end rant.

Pick your movie, slide your credit card, verify zipcode. Bammo movie slides out. To return all you do is hit return and it sucks it in.

except that they only show the new releases on the board, you said yourself they were looking at other movies that were not on the board, so how are you supposed to know what you want to get when its not listed? :thefinger:

ive used redbox a couple of times, cant beat it for a dollar but getting it back the next day so that you dont have to pay more can be kinda inconvenient.. but even 2 or 3 days is still cheaper than blockbuster at almost $5 a pop (but for a week)

if you want no lines no waiting, get netflix :owned:

They only carry new releases I believe.

The board has a picture of ALL of them. The top section of the board shows the most recent, that just came out. They can always go to the site. (See link) Shows exactly what they have.

I was thinking about netflix.

I like netflix. $9 a month and you get all the movies you can watch in a month. I have the one at a time setup. There are a bunch of Netflix's all over the place so its only 2 days or so before you get another movie.

I am sticking to my theory that there hasnt been a good movie since Smokey and the Bandit. The thing that bothers me about the red box is that I take really good care of dvds( i have about a 1000 literally) but when you get them its like a "GUESS WHATS GONNA BE ALL OVER THE LENSE GAME" because I dont know what people do to the dvds after they leave the case but they never go back in the same.

Only good luck so far, discs are in great condition. Also depends on how old the movie is and how many times it was handled.

Speaking of handling CD's WTF!?!?!

Do people know how to hold a damn CD anymore?! I mean the CD/DVD has been out for quite some time you would think people would know how to treat the damn things by now.

That's why I hate RedBox. $1 for a movie that might play if you are not the person after the guy who decided to eat his lunch off the disc because he was too lazy to wash a dish.

People are gross. Broke people are even worse.
