so i bought my car at a local dealer... family owned last january. I walked out the door at 8k with tags everything car had 33k on it bone stock.. it was dirty though.. like they had just gotten it in. So i have been driving buy there and noticed there is a burnt orange srt4 in there lot... :))))) got curious and stopped by... took it for a test drive with my mom.. lol and they quoted my car.. I think he must have put it in as an srt 4 too.. or something.. he said they could give me 9000 trade in? there for even if i paid list price i would only be financing 8k again... im so confused// did he just make a mistake? or should i jump on this? the only other thing is i hate burnt orange and i love my car...

Definitely most likely a mistake. You see, there's this economic factor that ties into things. It's called depreciation.

Do it, if it goes through, run.

How many miles on the orange blast SRT? They could be just telling you that because they're overcharging for the SRT (a huge dealer trick). They make like they are giving you alot for your trade, when really all they are doing is lowering the price of the car because they have alot of room to move. Or maybe theres something wrong with the SRT....I'd double check that....it would make me leery.

That car has been sitting on that lot of a few months now. Last I heard it was selling for $17k or something like that.

With gas prices being what they are, the salesman may have more interest in your SXT as a trade and the ability to sell it right away, hence the nice offer. SRTs probably aren't moving due to lower MPG/premium fuel. I would definitely go for the SRT if it is in good shape and you can afford the difference in operating costs (I understand about the color- I wanted OB myself but have gotten used to black).

they told me their offer would go down if i changed anything. it was a dodge dealer. in fact, the guy that bought it new worked there. he recognized the license plate. he said after he traded it in, a older woman bought it, had an accident in it (rearended) and then she traded it in at the dealer i got it from.

every place i ever went to about a trade in said mods = less money for trade in. I had a guy told me to put my old car back to stock b4 trading it....lol i didn't, i gave them that car. Wanted nothing more to do with it.
