worst birthday ever. I ended up letting a guy I knew in high school drive my car from the bar we met at to the bar I was supposed to end the night at cause I was drunk, and he slammed sideways onto 3!!!! Parked cars. Then ran away!!!! My car is totaled, as are 2 of the other ones. One looks fixable. I ended up spending the night in jail on a drunk in public charge.

Worst part is I can't remember this kids last name for the life of me! And the school I knew him from doesnt do yearbooks. All I was able to give the cops was a first name, physical description, and a general area where I think he lived back then. Lame, I know, which is what the cops said, and I agree with them. If I/they can't find him, I may end up getting a DUI!!!!

I went by where it happened this morning after I got out, I can't really tell how he lost control. I wasn't paying attention, I was text messaging the chick I was going to meet when it happened. I felt the rear break loose, and looked up to see us spinning sideways at a curb. We went over that and slammed into 2 cars sideways, pushed one into another one. This kid knew how to drive back in the day, I dunno how the fuck he did this. After seeing the car this afternoon, I don't know how he walked (ran?) away!none of the airbags deployed... I blacked out for a minute or 2 and when I came to i was walking around looking at the cars and there were some tenants from the apartments trying to get me to sit down. I vaguely remember one of them telling the cops that they saw me get out of the passenger seat, so hopefully that helps me out.

Unless they find this guy, basicly I'm fucked.

Holy crap! I don't even know were to begin...that really blows.

I hope like hell you remember/find out his name so you don't take the fall for this. And the fact that your car is F'ed :cussing:

I'm really sorry to hear this man. I'm glad you are ok physically. Good luck, and let us know if we can help find this guy. Maybe someone I know in this area may be able to help?

HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA.

Fuck dude. Why the fuck does no one know how to drive an SRT-4? Was he drunk, too? Sorry about the car, glad you're alright, though. Just don't buy one of those fucking Calibers, please.

Ummm....why the hell would you laugh? It's not like he was trying to drive drunk and wrecked (which would be stupid, not funny).

Maybe I missed something, but that really seemed rude.

Damn dude, probably hard for the cops to believe that someone else was driving. Very odd that he got away from the scene. No one saw this guy leave?

What a crummy birthday.

Freaky that teamlivid said, "Be safe tonight buddy" in the original post.

can't the cops finger print the steering wheel, drivers side door handle and get the kids prints? or has real science not caught up with CSI yet?

Piss poor luck dude, hopefully they get the kid and insurance doesn't bend you over

idk what the fuck is going on. The car went straight from the scene to the wrecking yard. No sign of any kind of forensic shit, and I can't get ahold of the cop that arrested me for drunk in public. I tried to get ahold of my insurance company yesterday and was directed to the voicemail of the claims rep that will be dealing with this. Should hear back from him tomorrow. I'm getting the car towed to my house tomorrow to pull all my shit off, fuck what insurance says.

It sucks the first $1000 of the part-out is gonna pay the deductable, and the rest has to get the camaro back running right. Keep that in mind when I don't take low-ball offers.

'90 rs, all original, one-owner, no accidents (except my mom backing into a pole at 7-11 and crushing a spoiler cap and tail light, and my curbing a sideskirt when I was learning to drive, not really accidents in my book), 81k on the clock. Its not in horrible shape, but it needs some work. It still has the original #8(? I think) plug in it, cause we've never felt like pulling the motor mounts to do a tune-up before LOL.

The best bet for providing some proof you were not behind the wheel were the witnesses that saw you in the passenger side or emerging from the passenger side.

The more information that can be obtained and provided that will reinforce the point that you were in the passenger seat the better. Those apartment tenants are going to be your best friends... I'd go back and canvas that building door-to-door. Get names and what they saw. Also, any cams in the area that may have recorded the incident?

Your car is a goner and that is a major bummer but the important thing here is that you were not driving and were not seriously injured. Unless the "friend" is a total rat... he is going to have this incident on his mind for a very long time. The school doesn't do yearbooks, but did he graduate? Do they do graduate group or individual shots that may still be available at the school?

It might be in your best interests to hire a private investigator to seek out this individual. This action alone would certainly indicate to the authorities (police, etc) that you are serious about this... and not just providing some lame excuse.

My friend has a Camaro in storage right now. $2000. I have no specs on the car ATM, but I'll be happy to list stuff off for you. I don't think he wants to part it out, but might be willing just so he can get rid of the damn thing. Some random Z28 with decent mods and flat tires.

I'm good. I don't need any parts for the camaro, just gonna change some seals, gaskets, and a new water/oil pump, tune-up and seafoam, depending what the slugs, cylinders look like when I change the head gaskets.

I have to find out what's going on with the investigation before I start throwing money at this. I'm going up to the school tomorrow to find out whatever I can that will help me better identify him to the cops.
