OK. I recently acquired a Scangauge II(thanks lbshaq) and man is it awesome. Displays a BUNCH of info. And I got to thinking. CUSTOM! Because my steering wheel is aftermarket and so much smaller than the stock one(and my racing seats effect this too) it blocks some of my view to my stock gauges. I can still see them. But...meh. Then I though hey! What if I glass in the Scan gauge over my stock gauges, get a aftermarket fuel gauge and an aftermarket oil psi gauge and make my own custom set up! Put the scan gauge in the middle and the other two gauges on the sides. The scan gauge can display 4 gauges at a time. The ones that I have up now are speed, Instantaneous MPG, water temp, and Intake manifold pressure. These are my options for any gauge I want right at my finger tips with the simple push of a button. Plus it is a scan tool so I can read and clear any CEL very easily.
DIGITAL GAUGES
Display 4 gauges at a time from the 12 built-in digital gauges. the information is presented in Real-time!
Fuel Economy
Fuel Rate
Battery Voltage
Coolant Temperature
Intake Air Temperature
Engine Speed (RPM)
Vehicle speed (MPH)
Manifold Pressure (not available on some vehicles)
Engine Load
Throttle Position
Ignition Timing
Open/Closed Loop

TRIP COMPUTER
Automatically tracks four sets of trip data - Each with 11 individually stored parameters.
Maximum Speed
Average Speed
Maximum Coolant Temperature
Maximum RPM
Driving Time
Driving Distance
Fuel Used
Trip Fuel Economy
Distance to Empty
Time to Empty
Fuel to Empty

Best shot of my current gauges for reference

Scanguage(You can change the back lit color to 63 different colors. So I got the blue to match my other gauges very well.

Think it is a good idea? Or should I just keep my factory gauges and run teh scangauge with it(which is what I am doing now)

why not glass it into the little cubby/dish above the HVAC to the right of your cluster.. the setup you have now is nice.. would it fit? (have no idea how big the scanaguge display is.)

i don't think it's a good idea honestly. you can read the stock gauges easier than a tiny screen. than again, i've never owned a scangauge, so that's entirely up to you. plus, i think it'd look a little ghetto and not as fluid as the stock stuff.

now, if you went to all digital gauges, like modernized muscle cars, that'd be pretty sweet.

and i'm surprised you still use the same gauges i sold you. those blue LEDs didn't light up SHIT at night, and i could never see what PSI i was riding at

Aquariuskid. Can't. I molded in a switch panel into that space that comes down from the top dash piece. Check my Interior project log for pics. And no you can not tune anything. You can erase codes and turn off the CEL with it but no tunin can be done. But it is still a VERY cool little toy and it shows up to the second MPG. So you can adjust your driving to get the best MPG. People have seen 4-5 mpg better just by knowing where the best spots are in the powerband for gas milage.

Opi. I still have those yes. But I replaced the leds with some really nice 5 chip bright ass leds. MUCH better.

And the scanguage is probably about life size as it is on my screen right. Kinda funny haha.

Wouldn't be as easy to see. And if you can buy it on ebay I don't want to make it. Cuz then I am just spending all that time to have something that anyone can buy online. Not worth it. I want something no one else has. And this is one thing I have NEVER seen on a neon. Or any car for that matter. At least in the way I am doing it.

i think you need to find a good place for it other than where the cluster is right now...maybe right above the cluster so its easy to see...idk lol
