So I guess I fail on all counts. Still learning stuff here. I'm guessing it's a cap that covers the bearing on a wheel? IDK. At least i know the difference between a lug nut and a wing nut. does that count for something? :)

I'll be 23 in a few months. Six years ago I was 17. I don't understand the point, I'm confused? My only purpose to that statement was I haven't had a "boyfriend" (god I hate that term) since I was 17.

They are part of an engine. And the fact that you want to learn puts you ahead of most. Since others are simply ignorant on all counts purposely. So yes....it counts for something.

Ahhhh it all makes sense now! Just b00bies in general! LOL The guys I've dated have always been told "If you're attracted to me you're an ass/legs kinda guy". Its truth. :cat:

I really only get bitched at when I'm spending a crap load of time working on it. The 3 days on the UDP problems drew some attention, but its more of a reality check than anything.

I thought it was funny when she looked under the hood one time when I was installing my new grounds and said "That looks so turbo".

last girlfriend didn't like that i was into my neon so much, but kind of accepted it for a bit. Then she got jealous of all the time and money spent into the car, and hated that i drove fast. yea, we only lasted a little of a year.

new girlfriend loves my car. she doesn't know anything about it, but she respects what i do to it, and is willing to lend me a hand from time to time. mind you, that "help" isn't much help.... but it's cute of her to try. :D

she does love going to car shows with me, asks a lot of questions until she understands, and felt fucking terrible when she spilled a drink in the back of my cobalt. Mind you, i threw her on a guilt trip for a few days. when i bitch at her about her rings, or watching her nails on the paint, she doesn't get upset. just says she'll try to be more careful. :)

My girl doesn't appreciate my hobby. But then again, her brother is really big into his car, so she kind of had to deal with it a lot. But my car is not my number one. It's tied for second with her. haha!

I do get along great with her brother, though.

My fiance is 5 months pregnant and not only did she help me clean and detail for Carlisle but she came to the show and sat the WHOLE DAY in the heat with me. Funny she left the 2gn tent to goto the bathroom and was gone for awhile, she came back and I asked where she was and she said "I was watching a Challenger on the dyno it was pretty sweet" and the guys that were around jaws dropped.lol she got me my headlights, maddog shifter and shiftknob and my material to do my interior. She says I could be doing worse with my money.

Think just being on it is bad, imagine owning it and explaining that to a girl you've met. It's hard putting a spin on that to not make it sound very pathetic
 How do you broach that topic? LoL I find it hard enough to tell people that I am an admin on a Neon web forum, mostly I get odd stares, laughs or people who stop talking to me...

Yep, about the same responses I get. I try not to let that topic be brought up anymore but when they learn I work on Neons, have two of them and ontop of that drive to neon meets X hours away it still doesn't help much. I need to get one of those "Chick Magnets" installed like Borat put it.

Well how can I put this........ While being happily married for 24 years now and still going strong, lets just say that we don't always see eye to eye. 95% of the time everything is smooth sailing. Now enter into the mix my Neon. I'm a late bloomer as I only started modding my baby over the past two years. We've gotten into more disagreements about me spending time and money over that period of time, than we have in all other disagreements over lets say the past 10 years. Not to mention all the time spent here on 2GN. Mandy understands that my Neon is more than just a car to me. Key word here is "ME". But, that's just it, the Neon is my Obsession and not hers. I have always tried to see both sides of the coin but I don't always see her side either.

I have the perfect mate. She wasn't into cars before I met her, but since we have been together (4 years now) she has developed an interest in cars...Mopars of course! Since we've been together, she has owned a '02 Durango R/T (slightly modified) and her '07 Caliber (very modified).

She started slow helping me do work to my ACR and learning as she went. When we started doing the mods to her Caliber, she has been involved with every project...she even installed the CAI herself (I just loosened two nuts). She is now working at the dealership with me (in service).

Hell, she was more upset than I was when we realized that we had to sell the ACR. She actually cried! Well, I did too, but she cried more

Sorry I can't commiserate. But I had to post how much she rocks
If I could just figure out how to meld the Outback and the Neon into one car...

My fiance is awesome. I was into cars when I met her, but I hadn't really modded anything. I bought my neon, and kinda fell in headfirst. It's been a little difficult here and there, but she doesn't give me a lot of shit about it. She tried to impose a limit saying I can't spend more in mods on the 98 than I spent on it. I only paid $1600 for it, so that puts a damper on things!@

So...You want to teach me?...Over dinner? :)

Just kidding. I have a girlfriend.

I have double the delema with girls. I like to work on my car and I'm a roller coaster enthuseast as well.

My girlfriend doesn't really see the point in me wanting to spend money on my car. But she doesn't say much about it, just as long as she's in the passenger seat. But she likes coasters. Or atleast she'll ride them with me and is willing to learn about them.

My first girlfriend (who was my worst pick and I really regret it) was into cars alot and loved drag racing. But she didn't like coasters. Things didn't work out for diffrent reasons though.

I find it interesting how everyone always says their ex was a mistake. I rarely see people who say that they learned something about themselves from an ex, I wonder why that is...

Well, last night we had a talk. She is a little jealous that I've spent so much money on the car, and she would like to have a nice engagement ring. We've been engaged since 2005, but the ring I got at the time was cheap (I'll admit it, I was a broke bastard). So anyway, I think I can work that out.

Yeah well, when she tells you she's a good liar and you still stick with her, I'd say thats a pretty big mistake. I found her cheating on me with a guy I work with. And, of course, she lied about it. And she lied about not being abot to go out because of school work but she was able to go out with the other guy the same night. Only thing I'm guilty of is stupidity.

One of my ex girlfriends used to scratch her wrists with a Lady Bic razor. Not enough to do any damage, but enough to get people's attention. I learned that if someone is doing that, RUN THE F' AWAY! kidding, I think I did the right thing when she DID go deep one time (enough to bleed, but she'd have been ok) I ran her to the hospital and called her parents. I kind of flipped out a little bit, but I hear she got better after that.

We also broke up 2 weeks after she got back. Her friend who witnessed it, made mention of why she wasn't in school, and the ex blamed me. Oh well...
