iPhone opinions

Okay, my family will be going to an Apple store next week to pick up a new computer, so naturally this has made me think of iPhones. Right now, I have one of those free phones from Verizon that comes with that 2-year agreement. It's a Nokia, the front screen is cracked because I'm careless with it, but it calls and texts just fine. However I would like a better phone. My friend just got an iTouch, and it is really cool, and would be even better with with call and text capabilities.

So, for those of you that have one, or know someone that does, what do you think of the iPhone? The only thing I don't like is switching to AT&T, because I do like Verizon, and most of my friends use Verizon. Is the iPhone worth it, or do you have any other recommendations?

Thanks, I think it's time for a phone upgrade.

Get the lg dare....cheaper, you don't have to have a data package. Not sure about your area, but this area doesn't even have hardly any 3g towers, So verizon's data is alot faster.

the cheapest plan you can have with the iphone is 70 a month...where if your already just an add on on your parents plan it's only 9.99 a month.

Yeah, I think we have a family plan with Verizon right now, and service is great. Is the Dare a good phone though?

I have an iphone its cool full web browser and all but honosly i would of been just as happy with any other phone (you have to get used to the texting on the iphone) i would rather have a keyboard with buttons im trying to get rid of mine soon and go back to a sidekick. theres a certain oh cool factor but it wears off i wouldnt buy it again if i knew what i know now but to each his own and att service is crappy in my area so that doesnt help either.

I'm just going to be bias and say get the iPhone. I'm not so sure that whole "minimum of $70/month for the iPhone plan" thing is true. Maybe if you want to get the iPhone "Free with contract", but that just sounds retarded.. that would steer a lot of potential buyers away if it was "You must pay $70/month minimum to get the iPhone".. I could be wrong, you could be right [J-Villa].

The new iPhone seems a lot better too, with the 3G coverage, new 2.0 update, GPS Chip, etc. I am definitely getting the iPhone when I get back to the states, but again... I'm pretty bias when it comes to Apple products lol.

so far it seems good...it's only been out for a short while...but i haven't had any returns on them yet. It's not an Iphone, but it's verizon's closest thing to it. I just think it would be dumb to spend an additional 60 more dollars a month to just an a Iphone.

Att 450 min plan - 39.99 a month
Data plan you must have - 29.99 a month
If you want unlim texting - 20.00 a month

So that's 90 a month...I know it's right, i use that to help me sell phones

I will NEVER get rid of my iPhone, in my line of busines and pleasure, NOTHING could replace it!

I have checked out the Instinct, the Dare, and the Glide, all have features the iPhone doesn't, however, NONE of them are as easy to use, or work as smoothly as iPhone.

No matter how many copycats come out, the iPhone has reigned supreme in EVERY review I have read, as well as my own comparisons.

It kicks much ass!

If you have a hard time navigating a dare, or instinct. You shouldn't have a touch phone at all. They are just as simple based as the iphone. Dare has some things alot better than the iphone. Like 4 ways to enter in text, including handwriting recognition.

I honestly do like the iphone. It's bad ass and flawless. But i would never pay what they want for it a month just to have it.

The iphone is cool, my roommate has one, there is always so many upgrades for the phone. They now even have a dynomometer application for it for a decent price and it is real accurate too.

Yeah, I was looking at the plans for the iPhone, and it's just ridiculous. I use a lot more than 450 minutes a month. Well, maybe most are at night and weekends, but still. I'm going to college soon, and I'll be in Tacoma I hope, (which is a rather large city) so service should hopefully not be a problem. But the money per month is so much.

I still love Apple though.

get a itouch....use the wi fi for web browsing and you can do all the app downloads ect for it...keep your simple based phone for talking. You even said yourself all your friends are on verizon. Be dumb to switch to pay so much more and burn minutes up talking to your friends.

I have the iPod Touch. I really do like it and can only imagine how much cooler it'd be to have the phone part with it.

And that's crazy about how much you have to spend on the iPhone... I'll have to look into that a bit more..

I think that's a good idea. The iTouch is really cool, I've seen it first hand. My phone will have to do for now.

Please, I have had an iPhone since they came out, they are all pretty much the same as far as..........they are all touch screens.

The only thing I said, is that NONE of them are as simple to navigate, or use, or work as smoothly as iPhone.

I tried both other phones, and accidentally triggered something I didn't want to, simply trying to scroll, it would select something I put my finger on to try and move, it was a pain in the ass. The iPhone, just seems to be smarter, it seems to know if you did, or didn't mean to select something. It also has BY FAR the best user interface, try them all back to back, you'll see what I mean.

Ill stick with my Instinct.

My Opinion: If everyone you know has verizon, stick with verizon. No point in burning up minutes just to talk to friends, because next thing you know you have a couple hundred dollar phone bill.

The iPhone is pretty cool. I've played with it in Apple stores and my sister in law has one. There is something weird with picture messages, its easier just to email them to her rather than send them as a picture message.

But, it's just too much money for me. Maybe when I'm ready for a new phone I'll get a Dare (because it should be cheaper) and get the data package.

Don't know if I would say they are over-rated, because they are pretty awesome pieces. Just too expensive for my current situation. I look at it as you might as well get the unlimited package at $100/month to take full advantage of the phone and make it your only phone (ie. replace house phone). But I'm just too hard on phones to spend the couple hundred they want for it.

every touch screen phone operates differently. Your used to your iphone. So the way you touch the screen, select things, scroll is gonna all be different from what your used to it. once you have the phone for a little while and learn it, it will be easy just like your iphone is for you.

Dare is a piece of shit iphone wanna be...don't let anyone tell you otherwise.

Once you have a jailbroken Iphone it's more powerful than anything LG has out.

Get it if you can. I would have one...but honestly it's too expensive.

I'm not a fanboy...just saying it how it is

Well we went to the Apple Store yesterday, and I just picked up an iTouch, 16g. This place was packed with people vying for an iPhone, and I didn't want to mess with the whole thing. So we also got an iMac, which is great. The iPod Touch is still amazing though, can't beat it. As far as my phone, I still don't know what I'm going to get, but I don't really care at this point.

I feel like there almost too much for half the people that own them im down to the point all i do is text, work email, and phone and alot of people i know have it use it for that i think theres a major"Oh cool iphone " part too it if you use an ipod alot id say go with it but if not then dont
