so brodie, chris, and jen already know this. but today in broad daylight my sound system was stollen. i went out for brunch and when i got back i left the car in the driveway with the window down. i went back out at like 4pm and found the head unit missing, the subs missing, and the amp missing. it was quite obvious that the people who did this knew what they were doing. they did however leave a $150 snap-on pry bar. what idiots. it looks like they looked for keys to just drive off but nothing else.
needless to say, they better hope that i NEVER find out who did it... scratch that. I had better hope that i never find out who did it. cause when/if i do, i'll beat them till i have nothing but bloody nubs on the end of my arms. thus i'll end up in prison for a long time.
i have a stollen propery report filed with the local P.D. but i got a feeling that it's not gonna help very much. talk about a shitty day

Sorry to hear. Paranoia owns me, I can't ever leave the car unlocked, windows down or anything like that out of sheer fear something like that would happen. Is your insurance assisting you in reimbursement or were the pieces not covered?

they weren't covered. but with the next set they're gonna be covered and the car's gonna have an alarm system

My insurance company has receipts for everything, granted I pay out the ass for insurance but still.....its all covered. I wish you luck with everything. Its just an excuse to upgrade. At least nothing was damaged.

So they just pryed the doors open? Or..were they unlocked?
Thats why I will never have an aftermarket stereo for my car! Too many of my friends have them jacked all the time.

lesson learned of today:
never trust your car anywhere, no matter what time of day, or how long you're going to be away from it. ALWAYS keep your windows up, sunroof closed, and doors locked.

They left a pry bar? Well get the prints like they do on CSI, and track those fuckers down. Then cap them.

Damn dude, that sucks mightily

And no, the chances of getting your stuff back is slim to none. IMO, the feeling of violation is by far the worst. Of course not having your gear anymore is not fun either.
People suck

That really sucks big time. Sorry, EJ, that you're going through this kind of crap. No one should ever have to go through what you're experiencing right now.

Wow, im sorry to hear that man. Im super parinoid with my stero equipment, i never leave anything unlocked.
It sucks cause at the college campus i go to ive literally seen rows of car's with broken windows that people have broken into while the students are at class. I always try to park in plain view so its harder for people to do that.

I know how you feel man. I had my car violated three different times. They took my whole sound system the first time, then ended up stealing about a grand worth of tools that were in my trunk the second time. The very last time they stole my rims...in a church parking lot while I was on retreat. Pretty screwed up. Someone is going to hell for sure for my rims. Your insurance should still cover your deck I think since its 1 mounted to the vehicle and 2 hardwired into your electrical system. Good luck. Fuck thieves.
