No.

Why?

I like to read the threads. Watching people defend it and the law worshippers condemn it.

I say get rid of it, not that I disapprove of street racing to the extent some go to but I just dont think it really belongs however if it was a required post count to see it, that would make it a bit more exclusive and less noob trolls. Although we do need a call outs section for trash talk, BS and the like. Then the OT will stay clean and everything will be good.

Get rid of it. If they wanna talk about street racing, make them off topic posts.

i say do away with it and create a pit section anything goes that way all the trolls and assholes and people that want to post there illegal activities can go and people without hearts can tear new ones to people that want to post random shyt. And the people with sticks in there butts dont have to go to that section at all cause they already know its full of BS stuff that they dont agree with. and hopefully all the wining and crying will stop....

Sorry for this post as its late and i cant sleep but im tired.......

That post got me to thinking about the liability issue, something that I hadn't thought about when I posted earlier. Yes, internet posts aren't disposable and have an infinite life so they can come back to bite you on the *** so I'm going to have to change my vote- get rid of it.

^Exactly.

I vote to get rid of it AND ban all related posting. Should be put into the same class as stuff like copyright infringement, porn, etc. No reason to allow people to talk about breaking the law. Makes the forum and its members look bad. The Neon community needs all the help it can get to maintain a decent reputation. I cant think of the last intelligent posting i've seen in the SR section either. The posts are a waste of time to read and a waste of space on this site.

Leave it, I see nothing wrong with it. Not all street racing turns into a "ZOMG FAST AND THE FURIOUS HIT BY TRAINS@!!!!!"

Some of it is over in 10 seconds on the access road and that's it.

Illegal is just another way of saying someone else didn't like it and decided to ban it. I wonder how many of us would be smoking weed if it was legal?

I don't street race for the record. My car is too slow. Lulz.

No, illegal is the result of someone not liking it and deciding to ban it. Whether or not we agree with it's legality, the fact remains that it is illegal. Since it is illegal, it doesn't need to be here.

That section has been here longer than you and I, so obviously someone at some point over looked that.

He asked for input so I gave it.

I wasn't trying to belittle your opinion, I just wanted to clarify that one point. Like you said, just cause it's illegal doesn't mean folks won't do it or brag about doing it. I personally believe that people should be allowed to do whatever they like as long as it doesn't hurt anyone else. Unfortunately street racing does hurt others far too often. For that reason alone I agree with the legality of it.

Plus the fact that the posts usually get out of hand

If you participate in Street Racing, know the risks and (Most likely) DO NOT hurt anyone or get yourself hurt there's nothing wrong with telling the story IMO.

What's bad is the selected few who selectively go into the Street Racing forum and start talking shit, spreading their anti-racing shit like an evangelist! Those people need to be taken care of, deleting the section isn't the answer. Because the broad majority of us don't seem to have a problem. As a matter of fact I skimmed the first 5 threads and didn't see one "out of hand" post war

I say keep it! Hell, with the logic I'm seeing why not add in a section for any and all illegal activity. I mean, if no one see's it and it doesn't harm anyone is it really illegal?

I don't think that would help because as soon as someone joins they would then have access.

Or do you mean they would have to "apply" for the section?

Personally... its pretty easy... if your the kind that is going to flame... just don't read that section. I don't bother reading it so I can live without it being on this site. If it remains I'll do what I always do...

Ignore that section.

How do you control things that are out of your control? If you have a problem with the legality of things organize and get the law changed, there is nothing that states that once a law is law it can't be changed.

Not me. Shit makes me paranoid. I've got my own reasons for doing or not doing something, and rarely are any laws or ordinances one of them.

Jason,

Not trying to be an ass but the poll results are as follows at the time of this post:
Yes
85% [ 36 ]
No
9% [ 4 ]
Other
6% [ 2 ]

There is overwhelming support to drop the section, why is the minority in this case winning the fight? There is overwhelming support for removal of the section. I understand its your decision I just wanted point this out. No offense is intended.

I'm still thinking about it... getting rid of it may not solve the problem. Once it's gone the threads could just spread into other parts of the forum. Keeping them at least contained to one area so people that do want to just ignore them are able to. This gives me a good idea that most would rather ignore them. Give it time folks... I'll probably be implementing the idea posted in post 30.
