This is a funny thread Josh...
I was excited today when the cheapest Chevron station showed 3.69/g on 93... Still roughly 3.84 in most places around here for me.... I'm just glad that I'm not paying $50 to fill a commuter car.

still around 3.25....so it hasn't really moved...
i hate cars now b/c of how much gas costs really.
wish we had better public trans around here.

You guys have nothing to complain about!!
Regular- $4/gal
Mid- $4.60/gal
Prem- $4.90/gal
Ultra94- $5.20/gal
And thats not including the exchange rate since the dollar has gone down again.
I won't even list the price of race gas!
Yep... that is life at the pumps in Canada.
I'd love to see 2 - 3 dollar gas.

and i'd love to see governemnt health care

As it is now, I only fill my tank once a month

I find that I don't even pay attention to the price.
And yes, I'm a broke bitch as well.

I've filled my tank twice this month, iirc, because of the stuff with purchasing a house.

That sucks Frank

But mine is because I only drive about 5-7 miles a day. And that's with going home for lunch.
But I feel ya on the house expense. I'm really looking forward to February.

I don't mean that I haven't been able to afford it, I mean with all the running around I've had to do. And by month I mean the last 30 days not just October. I believe I normally go through a tank and a half in a month

Oh, got ya. I was a bit worried that you were so strapped with the house purchase that you were walking everywhere that wasn't work related.

Hehe... okay I will give you a real life example of how Canadian government health care works.
I live in Gatineau, Quebec which is basically a stones throw from Ottawa, Ontario the nations capital. My Doc (been going to him for over 20 years) is over in Ontario. Each time I visit him I am required to fill out paperwork so he can get reimbursed for my visit by the Quebec government.
Get a Doc over in Quebec you say? Good luck with that... we have a real Doctor shortage up here. Government health care only works if you can actually get in to see a Doctor. LOL.
I take meds for high blood pressure. I pay out of pocket for them while a group plan with reimburse me for 80% of the cost.
Now I'm on an APAP machine... Automatic Positive Airway Pressure machine to treat a sleep apnea condition. I had to purchase the machine out of pocket for $2000 and now I'm waiting for my group plan to reimburse me... at least this will be 100% covered.
Don't have 2 grand laying around to purchase the equipment... well good luck then and start saving now.
It isn't like the government take care of everything, but... if I get in a serious accident with the Neon and land up in hospital for a month I won't go bankrupt trying to pay the bill. The government will pickup the tab.
I'm really trying to avoid testing the system in that respect.

Its $3.50 for regular at the 76 station here in Atwater, CA. My Nissan Roque rental car doesn't need the 93.. wait i'm in California there isn't 93 octane.. hmm
Anyways.. 2008 Nissan Roque S AWD isn't very fun driving through the altamont pass..

Nah its not that bad thankfully. Very minimal spending going on right now thats all.
Plus, I'd be losing a shit ton of weight from all the walking because nothing is close to my dad's (where I am living now). Minimum 5 mile walk to the truck stop, 8 miles to WalMart and Food Lion.

Me too, but only if we get rid of and fix a lot of the public well-being aid programs we've already got going on.
Also, Obama is a terrorist, and not a natural-born citizen.

im pretty sure this was covered but lets go over this one more time for fun.... because its YOUR MONEY CHILDREN
We as consumers follow the Law of Demand; Price goes up; demand goes down and price goes down; demand goes up, ceteris paribus..
so we as consumers theoretically by more gas when price decreases, again ceteris paribus... aka we will be more likely to make that 20 mile trip for a dinner date when gas is at $3pg instead of $4pg...
As consumers use this law the oil companies see the Law of Supply ; When price goes up more product is going to be supplied and when price goes down less product is going to be supplied...
now that oil companies have tasted the profits from $4 a gallon. they want to keep those profits returning...
since the stock market is having all sorts of problems crude oil is taking record drops.. which obviously is lowering gas prices.. we as consumers are happy but the suppliers are not (no kidding!!) so they want to stall the supply of the gas to the consumers.. which in turn will again raise prices...
that i believe is the biggest factor in gas prices today...
as for the stock market.... ARE YOU F*@%ING KIDDING ME WITH THIS....it almost went below 8000points today...
thats not good...
but im thinking by JAN you will see a turn around... housing will not be as crazy as it was... in the last 8 years it increased by about 40% in most areas... with most of the growth happening exponentially in the last 5 years... now its hard for most of the younger generations ( IE me) to afford housing...
im goingto say in the spring of next year the housing market will fall another 20% on top of the 10-15 it has already fallen.. bringing us right back to normal cost of housing... (unless investors really start focusing on real estate instead of stocks again, which by the looks of it, that might happen; then i think it will only fall 20% collectively)
im willing to believe i will see close to 220 per gallon at the pumps by xmas...
and that brings me to the holiday season.... all im going to say is its prob gonna be a very mellow christmas..
thats all im done... now to finish the case study.. >_<

I remember when it being below 8000 points was normal.
I'm still not going to panic and sell everything.... irrational thinking and panic selling is what is having the major effect on the market right now.

Fortunately, my retirement plan is set to purchase certain stocks when they dip below a pre-set level. SO, when things go back up...
Gas here is $3.07 for reg, and $3.28 for 93 octane. Gonna fill up the SRT today.

i hear you on that one but im not liking the rate its dropping.... however im not in panic mode like the media is
the market hit its high in oct/nov of last year; iirc. which was 14000 now its decreasing and people got nervous so they started pulling... which decreased it more and they paniced more... its a vicious circle lol
edit *** the top 2% is not panicking, they are waiting... and the people with life savings in stocks or retirement plans 401ks who are retiring soon are the one who are worrying

Last month we hit over $4/gal and in some spots $5/gal. That lasted several weeks while there was a shortage but now we're on the tail end of the shortage. Some stations are still out but for the most part it's very easy to find gas now. I was out yesterday and prices were hovering in this area around $2.80-2.99 price range.
