Finger + table saw. Put a very nice, clean, precise 1/4" cut > 3/4 through my finger from the top side. Severed two ligaments and had ‘emergency’ surgery to re-connect them. Do to the nature of the wound it had to heal ‘open’. Now I have limited movement of it, poor blood circulation to the tip and a little loss of feeling on the top side.

sounds like what i did to my thumb. I went through to the bone, and fractured it across. I have zero feeling passed the cut.

And shit Teej I'm shocked you survived the SJ syndrome...amazing. Did your skin return entirely to normal?

for the most part,i have alot of eye problems and asthma now,and alot of faint scars,it was bad enough that i went to the hospital a few months ago and even though it has been over 4 years since it happend one of the doctors seen my name on some paper work and came all the way down from the lab to shake my hand and tell me how lucky i was to even be alive,i did not remember him but i guess he was one of the first doctors to see me

The once and only time i got hurt.

I was in our old apt parking load trying to teach myself to rollerblade [had the weird playskool or w/e brand]. I tried to jump off a curb, blades slipped and a fell. BAM middle of my right forearm on the curb. I got up, casualyl walked over to my stepdad, while he was washing our old mustang convt. and told him "I fell and broke my arm". He told me "boy, no you didnt you would be crying"

Since he didnt listen to me I had to take off both skates with my left arm [ i'm a righty btw], carry them, AND walk all the way up to the 3rd floor. I told my mom i broke my arm, she didnt listen to me either, since i wasnt crying or anything. So i took my nap, woke up to my mom telling me. OK well take you to the hospital....soon to find out that whole time I broke a bone in my arm, sleep with it, walked up the stairs, held my skates, and didnt cry during the whole time.

me - parents
:slap:

till this day i rub it in my moms face & my step dad brings it up from time to time.

Mattern: That clear bag of fluids was probably Lactated Ringers solution. Keeps you hydrated. Its protocol for anyone with an IV.

LilNicko: You had a tilt test too? OMFG....I hated that thing. They gave me the medicine even though I told the woman not to. So I vomited all over her face. Stupid bitch. No means no asshole.

Teej: You are VERY lucky. As am I in some respects. I can definitely live with everything I have going on. It just required alot of lifestyle changes that force me to live a more subdued life and change alot of my dietary needs to supplement things. Its all worth it in the end though. And I've gotten used to the one eye thing, its been 2.5 years since I lost it. Its not all that bad, I could be totally blind....that would be far worse.

I bet Opi has a truckload of injuries, ,intentional ones for that matter. lol

When I was little, I got my hand stuck in an elevator door as it was opening. My hand actually stopped the door from opening all the way. It stopped it halfway and the damn machine kept trying to open and wouldn't quit. Funny thing was it was at a hospital so it was all gravy.

split tongue is the only thing there that hurt more than my hand

-had my head open when I was in kindergarten (I was leaning on a chair lost balance and fell down on a steam radiator), I remember there was a lot of blood falling down the way to the hospital, still have a huge scar

-had drunk half of bottle of old gasoline (3 months old or something), my mom says that I was saying that this thing doesn't taste right and when she smelled it she took me to the hospital immediately and thank god it was old, because everything inside of my body could have burned. (I was 3 yo)

-five stitches on my forehead, right eyebrow (visible)

-six more on my forehead near left eyebrow

-broke right hand

thats pretty much, there's more but those are major.

Long story short. Born cross eyed. They fixed it when I was a year old with a surgery. When I was 16 my eye would drift when I was tired, but I didnt want it operated on again, so I put it off until 2006 when I was 20. Four surgeries (June 06, July 06, November 06 and June 07) later its there but doesn't work because the doctor fucked up the first surgery so bad. I'm lucky I didn't actually lose my eye, its there and its real, but it doesn't function.

Very true. I am a much stronger person than I was before all of this. It gives you a better appreciation for life and everything in it.

Strumbismus (sp)?

I was born cross eyed too, had surgery at 2 and then at 8 when they started drifting again. Drs said I couldn't have any more surgeries so I just have to limit reading and computer work so I don't tire the one eye and freak people out with a wanderer. Lets see though, worst injuries... A bicycle crash when I was 7 that left gravel in both lips, knees and palms. I got a concussion when my parter dropped me roller skating when I was 13. Thats about it. Even through two nasty car wrecks I've never broken a bone or had anything serious. I've been very lucky so far.

Damn yall are some dangerous mofo's.

The worst ive done is breaking my right arm, and breaking my left leg a week later. Needless to say, i had a crappy summer.

Riding my bike once going down a steep kill and lost control, scraped my forearm against the pavement (it basically broke my fall) got up immediatly and felt no pain. Bike was fucked so i had to carry it, so i was carrying it and this dude saw me and asked if i was okay, and i told him i felt fine and was wondering why he was so concerened. Only when i got home did i realize the entire back of my forearm was completely covered in blood. 11 stitches later i was fine  Thought it was weird how i felt no pain tho, guess it happened so quickly i wasent able to feel it.

Crystal/SteelBlue: Strabismus, Palsy of the 4th cranial nerve, eye muscle disorder, diploplia, etc.

Having all of that at the same time puts me in a 1% category. Doctor's didn't know how to deal with it because having all of that at once is so rare.

I twisted and snapped my Femur, when I was 4 years old, jumping out of a swing. I still have nightmares about the feeling, sound, and pain.

Wanna know what the x-ray looked like? Take a chicken drumstick, and twist the ends until the middle breaks.. yea.. it was painful.
