I'm thinking about getting a new mountain bike, and really considering a 29'er. Does anyone on here have one? Whatta think of it, pro and cons.

I have a Mongoose Blackcomb:
It's a 26" but I like it. The suspension is good, but I want to get some upgrades for it anyway and the seat is a little uncomfortable after riding a while so I'll probably change that out sometime too. I think the coolest thing though is that it has front and rear disk brakes, no joke.

I've hear the 29'ers roll really smooth and are a lot of fun on the trails cuz they roll amazing..
The only thing that would suck is if you want to do any downhill or freeride stuff it won't be as burly as a 26", because generally the smaller rims are stronger. But it just depends on what you want to do.
I use my bike for commuting right now, but with a tire change and I'm ready for the trails. The fenders are part of the winter spec mode..lol
Its a Jamis Komodo, with a kamikazi fork, sun double wide fr rim, atom lab trail pimp r wheal with Sint hub and derailer, demo bars, hollzfeller stem, hayes 8" carbon series, Hussfelt crank W/ howitzer BB, Snafu seat, Wellgo mag pedals, lizard skin grips and chainstay.

Green: Ya, my buddy has a Blackcomb. Good bike for the buck, I can't think of another bike w/ suspension and discs for the price.
Patio: Thanks for the input. No downhill or freeride for me, I do mostly XC riding. My local bike shop has a smokin deal on a 08' Raleigh 29'er leftover. I'm still considering it. BTW who makes those fenders you got? Those would be the ticket winter riding.

Haros are sweet bikes too. Another local shop has an Alley SS leftover for a good deal also, but unfortunately it's a single speed. I gotta have gears. No full suspension 29'er either, that's way outta my price range.
