actually, dude is right, 180 is totally possible(assuming you can get past the computer)

5th great, 3000RPM, is just about 82MPH...6k would be 165ish, i'm sure that in the extra 500-1500rpm(dependong on his rev limiter), he can squeeze in another 15mph...

since today my #14 cam was being removed and the stock magnum cam put back in, i decided to hit my speed limiter on the stock 2002 R/T PCM

Mods: Iceman, 60mm TB, FF Longtube header w/ 2.5" piping to glasspack to dynomax muffler, UDP, Crane #14 cam.

75mph to speed cut on my 2002 R/T, downshifted from 5th to 3rd then to 6500rpm in each gear back to 5th until the speed limiter kicked in around 133mph

193 in a 1979 corvette running a 383 with a b&m 6:71 blower. putting down somewhere in the ball park of 725hp running on alcohal. custom gauge cluster with digital speedo that was properly calibrated. the motor actually overheated and started knocking really bad. pissing coolant everywhere too. it was so not worth it but there you have it.

Tried a few runs on a 1 mile bridge on SR 417 N. in Orlando, Topped out just shy of 120mph (17" rims so more like 115mph). Made a few midnight runs on I 75 S. to Ft Myers for work at sustained 110mph, one time getting from Orlando to Ft Myers in 2 1/2 hours! (usually closer to 4!) Never caught but paid for it over the years in lesser local traffic infraction$!

My car...I haven't had a need to take it that high yet. But until I get MS its only going to be about 120 anyway. Think 5th will only allow 136mph though

nothing fancy ... where i used to live a guy was always building drag cars ... he built one out of a 60's model gmc ... dont know a lot of details about it other then big block, roots blower, fuel injection and enough electronics to make a IT person go mad ... full rollcage and custom chassis ..

dealership tech told me the SXT's injector shut-off is 112 mph, might be able to squeeze a few more mph out of it, which explains why most all of us are sayin 110-115ish in our neons

Yup and you can hear it too, that's the funny part: cruising along - grrrrrrrrrrrrrr....phtf.....coasting along! Handles a constant 105 with no problem though I have the 4sp ATx too, I think that takes a lot of strain off the engine. For a grocery cart I can't complain.

Definately has a higher limit than the 96 Neon I owned.
