Supposedly at 150MPH u'll need 350-362 pounds of constant force.

http://phors.locost7.info/phors06.htm

So at 180mph, it'd probably be about 475-500 pounds of constant force.

Well not really H, but the speedo was buried, one of the reasons for getting a SRT-4 cluster. Had to be doing better than 118mph since the Dakota R/T that was next to me hit his speed limiter(damm thing sounded like a Jakebrake)..

one thing i know for sure 2gs are more aerodynamic then 1gs, at 45mph rain rolls off my window, in my 1g i dont think i was ever to get rain to roll off =p

Dude.... basic physics isn't all thats needed.. you need to take into account wieght of the vehicle, head or tail wind, how much torque i'm producing at the accelartion point, was I going down a flat/sloping surface, the rotational inertia my wheels/tires must overcome, along with the resistance of the tires against the ground, then you have to figure overall drag of the vehicle. To remind I said i can never confirm that 180mph because there are too many factors and with no GPS all i can be sure is above 160mph and thats based on two variables overall tire hieght and gearing, oh the speedo wrapping all the way around to to the peg.. Roach has done it before too interesting thing to see.

So..what were all those then?

It's nice to be able to claim 180MPH out of a Neon, but until i see some proof I ain't believin it.

I mean, anyone can claim 180MPH, heck, maybe i'll go post I did 190, but i still find it extremely hard to believe.

fine you want it, http://www.neons.org/tire/speed.shtml go there type in 225/45/15 2k 3.55 at 7500 you should get 178.164 mph.. if you're lazy if you're not then look up the excel file in the archives in the neons.org/forum which gives you top speed at redline for every gear, with all the variables like tire-size to final drive. not to hard.. Yet i find it funny nobody wonders about the guy that said 160 in his SRT.. especially when i have a way larger turbo, built motor, standalone and so on.. damn.. didn't realize it was that big of a deal. Check out the speedo on Mustang Cobra, i've seen a 500whp cobra peg it, and his car came in at 3680lbs at G-ville Raceway..

to go 320 mph you got to rev to 13,471 RPM in 5th gear w/ .81 5th in 3.55 on 225/50/15s... :P

Wow, according to that, my ATX Neon will be go 170mph in 3rd gear at 7000 RPMs.. yay! Maybe i can do it! :)

Diablo, this is the type of proof i'm talking about. :) I just hope it's right, for your and my sake. :)

do you even know what your talking about mr "14sec n/a" boy?
because its impossible for YOU to believe something does not make it fake. maybe this is why you strive to run 14's allmotor, and he has a built motor with alot more HP then youll ever see out of probably ANY vechile you ever own. maybe next time, before you open your mouth, you should do a little research. if his cars stripped down even half as close as mine is, he could easily be weighing in at 2500lbs, maybe alot less. plus nearly 400whp or more. maybe you should stick to catbacks and CAI's next time, idiot.

so when a srt makes somewhere around 240ish whp and goes 155 mph thats believable, but a car weighing possibily 400lbs less, with close to 400whp and a MUCH better power curves claims 180sih, u think its fake. HOORAY BEER*

*idiot.

If it's as built as diablo and unsuperman claim it is, his car is more than capable. And as to why he didn't have video or gps to prove it- do you carry around a video camera and gps unit every time you think you might have an impromptu race?

weight has no bearing on top speed, it just effects how quickly you can get to that speed

Posted: Sun Sep 04, 2005 6:17 pm
by ram50rocket
I think weight might actually help at high speeds. Don't quote me on that.

A couple years ago there was a monster civic built for high speed salt flat runs that could only get 160mph. I read about it or saw it on the speed channel, I think it was aerodynamics holding it back. Oh well, think I'll have another german beer :P

im not disucssing maths here moron, i dont give a shit whats is his suppoused weight or his car power..

Well in that case i have a 900hp neon that weights 800lbs... i make the quarter mile in 6.5 secs.

maths work, what doesnt fucking work is that I DONT OWN A 900HP NEON ok?

so post a video or stfu... BOY.
