I understand you completely.
I don't mind if someone likes/dislikes something/someone, but have a good argument about it. Not some petty bullshit.

Then please tell me why I should switch if I'm perfectly content with Windows.Opi wrote:The Mac OS does a LOT of the same things Windows does.

Never said you had to switch. Just debunking all yours myths as to why the Mac OS is "inferior" to windows. Trying to educate you is all. I really don't give a shit who uses what system, only thing I care about is you know and understand the pros and cons of each system and have an educated argument to back yourself up.
Not just pull some non-factual information out of your ass, when all of your "problems" are just user error and lack of wanting to try something new.
Oh, and I made an edit in my last post. Go read it.

Lol, I didn't think that was really fact, I just though it was funny. As you may know 6 out of 5 statistics are usually made up.
I just don't get why people see Macs as "so good". After reading your arguments, I still don't under stand it.
It’s a damn computer. They all do the same damn thing just in a different way. Its all 1's and 0's. Some are just easier to use than others.
I may say now, "I'll never own a Mac." But like you said,
"Hopefully you can actually learn something in your broadcasting class. Stop being so close-minded about everything and give it a try."
Well judging by what I've read about in the overview of the classes, I'll be forced to use a Mac. And who know, maybe something will click or maybe I'll learn more about how crappy they are.

Wow, Greenie, you’re in over your head in this one my friend… I’m a PC user, always have been. The only thing I’d ever used a Mac for (up until a couple years ago when I bought one) was Oregon Trail way back in 3rd grade. After that, it was PC all the way, Windows rah rah rah.
Now, a couple years ago I bought a Mac laptop from a member here, and when it showed up on my doorstep, OMG, I figured out how it was different than a PC in, oh, an hour or so of tinkering with it. I admit, I had to call a friend to help me with some things. But after that I was on my own, and damned if it wasn’t a helluva better computer than any PC I’ve ever used (save for the custom built wood-inspiring gamer machines a friend has built) it booted faster than my PC with similar specs, ran better, got less viruses, and in general was just a much better computer.
Now, that computer died (my fault, laptops don’t like sitting on your bed in soft blankets where they don’t get any airflow) and I bought a Gateway. I use windows XP at work, and Vista at home. I love Vista, however I feel it’s just too damn slow for my tastes. My roommate has comparable specs on his computer, but he has XP, and his computer will boot faster, and run better than mine with Vista. Oh, and I have 2 GB of RAM, he only has 1. So I’m not a fan much, but it’s OK.
All that said, you have to actually fiddle with something before making a decision on it, and sorry Greenie, you just don’t seem open to anybody’s opinion but your own. So lighten the fuck up and try a mac for a month with a program you’re used to, instead of being a Goddamn ass about every fucking thing you post about…

Not to mention that more and more Mac features are being built into Windows lately (who do you think had widgets first?) and eventually you will basically be using a Mac, but a cheaper stripped down version called Windows.

Edit: So it's a downloadable tool that doesn't give you access to any voltages, have you made sure you are stable at that speed? Just because you can get around in Mac OS X doesn't mean it's stable.Opi wrote:Yes, yes you can over-clock macs as well. Only Mac Pros through, because any other machine would cause major heat issues. Cases are so small, they wouldn't be able to handle an increase in temp. How ever, I've over-clocked my mac pro from 2.2ghz to 3.8ghz just fine for 3 months now. No additional cooling or anything required. runs at a steady 95* F
Also, are those temps actual core temps, or are you measuring it from the heatsink? And the most important, are they idle or 100% load temperatures?
lol just read trough some posts and its funny to read u guys argueing about using windows over the mac os x i mean people have been doing that since it first came out and its really just the same i mean u use it for whatever perpose u might need then thats it.
and besides a computer isnt based just on what system its running its based on processor and ram and hard drive, graphics card, sound card and other things than just the os but thats another ballgame rite there.

Supposedly, it manages everything in the program. It's not quite as customizable as playing around in the BIOS of windows, but it does it job. And as far as I can tell, it's pretty damn stable. Any high and the kernal crashes and my system locks up. At 3.8 it's running peachy king though and I've had no memory leaks in my software.cabbspapp wrote:Edit: So it's a downloadable tool that doesn't give you access to any voltages, have you made sure you are stable at that speed? That's my system right now

Probably shouldn't listen to anything your penis says, that guy's a dick.
Too much time spent here is a sign of a bad case of Ownaneonvirus.Patience, of course, is a very powerful weapon, but sometimes I start to regret that it is not a firearm.

If you bought your computer prebuilt, like HP, Dell, etc. Then you have to download a program to be able to do it. You won't get as far as a computer you assemble yourself with a motherboard that has all these options unlocked.TheRandom1 wrote:I've always wanted to overclock a PC and see what happens... but I dunno where to start.
