sooo i got my first ticket tonight and well i've always been told to check everything to ensure it is correct.

so i got 2 questions,

1) where it says phone number nothing is written can i use that or no?

2) heres what i got charged with:

where the highway is marked with a double line consisting of a broken line and a solid line

the driver of the vehicle proceeding along the highway on the side of the solid line shall drive the vehicle to the right of the double line

well i wasen't on a highway i was on a street where the speed limit is 50, or do they just consider everything highways?

You passed on a solid line? I've learn, unless you can absolutely prove the cop is wrong, just pay it and save yourself the time.

'Stateside' laws are probably different.....

I'm not even sure what this means..... "where the highway is marked with a double line consisting of a broken line and a solid line " ?? :?

Instead of a double solid where no one can pass, one side is broken so that side can pass. I've never saw that on a highway though.

Apparently you were on a... er... lets call it road for now... yes... you were on a road where the middle line indicates passing going in one direction is acceptable but not acceptable in the other direction.

...and you did not have the broken line on your side.

Pay the ticket and consider it a lesson learned. :)

I like that line from that movie "Liar Liar"

Just pay the ticket and be done with it.

Check your local laws to see what they define highway as.

Just wondering-- why did you cross the line in the first place?

Pay it.

Pretty much if it's anything buy a local, residential side street, it's probably considered a highway.

Any paved road.

What was the section and subsection of the HTA they nailed you with?

And what was YOUR version of what happened... Just out of curiousity.
