However, it does not nearly cover the cost of the education our government provides plus the medical most use, etc. etc...

Yes most illegals pay taxes even if minimal, but can't file for a refund, because they have no social # It is free $ for our government. Why do you think there hasn't been much done with this problem? :-k
I'm completely with you.
This is why I don't get why some overly-just Americans are like "the illegal is stealing my hard earned tax money", when in reality, isn't it technically the other way around?

It doesn't really "cost" the government as much. Remember, second-hand prices are way higher than first-hand prices. Plus it's not like only one illegal is paying taxes... It's a pretty nice percentage.

If it's a muffler, it's legal. Fartcans are considered mufflers and they're legal. You need a catalytic converter and a muffler and you're good. /on topic

That is a weak argument. There are prolly as many legal ppl that are bleeding the system if not more. Lumping all illegals into one group is just as bad as racism. There is good and bad to everything.
Is it right in the eyes of the law? No. Depends on what eyes you want to see with.

Weak argument? The discussion isn't about the many legal people in our country bleeding the system. Yeah it sucks, but we can't kick them out of the country for not belonging here. We can try to help them out, because they are Americans after all regardless of race, gender and religion, etc.

I am not for helping those who break the law and abuse our system, there is no racism there, just right from wrong. For crying out loud, this guy (whom i've never met so I do not know him on a personal level) is illegal and attending one of our colleges? Do you also not realize that with the schools accepting only a limited number of students that he ultimately kept an American from attending that University?

We have instilled proper channels (not perfect, but can still be changed to make things easier) in which immigrants can go through and obtain citizenship and the full protection of our rights and laws legally. I commend those who go through this process. Illegals are not entitled to the fairness of our laws, plain and simple. Nor should we give them a slap on the wrist, it down plays the significance of one actually earning their citizenship.

In light of pointing out weak arguments; claiming that my discontent for patting illegals on the back is equivalent to racism is a far reach at best. Pointing out a black guy is black is not racist, its pointing out the obvious, same as saying some one is French, Russian, Mexican, or even Asian etc. If it is true it is not racist, it fact.

I'm not racist, I just get a little ticked off that we are soooooooooooo willing to help, take care of and accept the burden of others more so than our own. One would think that our countrymen would be a first priority.

I am saying I support it, but there are other underlying issues. Would you rather they went back to mexico pissed off? America has enough enemies. You have a goverment in Mexico that is very ineffective. So let's send ppl that are doing some good here to use their brains against us. Yes there is a large percentage that don't benefit us, but a lot have gone back due to the shitty economy here. The ones that have stayed are prolly the ones that either are in gangs, or are actually worth having around. If you make it rough onthe ones that are borderline, they'll just join the gangs, where they are "family". Hunger is a powerful motivator.
I doubt this problem will ever go away, as long as there is a huge disparity between the U.S. and Mexico. If the current situation gets worse, there will prolly be more comming across the border just for the sake of their lives.
And do I have a college education? No You don't need to go to school to use your brain. You just need an open mind. And be prepared for what falls in.

It seems like the cops instincts were right pulling him over... he just did not follow-up completely on those instincts.

Keep driving without a licence and sooner or later you will get caught... the odds are against you at this point. And unfortunately being illegal in the country will make the situation a whole lot worse.

You might want to start down the road to getting this all fixed so you can stop looking over your shoulder.

I actually don't feel like I'm breaking any laws for just being here. It's not like It was my choice being here. I do feel like I am breaking the law when I drive.. but I've made sure that I'm a good driver.

When I started driving, I never wanted to drive without my dad. (he has a license) Even though I didn't take the driving exam, I had my friends tell me if I did anything wrong while driving to insure I was doing everything right.

Every one who sees me drive knows I am an exceptional driver and because of me, every one wants to learn to drive MTX. I will teach them all with my little 87' Toyota Tercel Hatchback. I have taught one of my friends how to drive MTX and now he is going to buy his first car and it's going to be MTX!

My dad used to work for huge company's in Mexico like Volkswagen, Kodak, NEC and many more... and here he is making minimum wage working for an Auto parts delivery service.

The crime at Mexico was just too great for my parents especially for me and my brother since we were little kids.

After my dad worked for those big company's it was a time where you couldn't find any jobs and my dad was out of a job. My parent's last job at Mexico was a little food stand on the corner of their street. They were making good money cause they are both excellent chefs and every one would go to their food stand and every one would know them in the area. One day one guy randomly went up behind my dad's back and put a knife up to him and demanded him to close the food stand because he had another food stand on the other corner and no one would visit him any more. So they didn't want to risk it so they closed it down.

After that, they were not able to find any jobs because no place was hiring. Even though my dad would be highly qualified for any job, there was just no room for him because the situation at Mexico was bad at that time.

So with the little money they had saved up from the food stand, they bought plane tickets to California and here we are now..
We didn't get here illegally and broke no laws to get here.

If you had a family with 2 kids.. What would you do to put food on the table? I wish they would have tried to get their citizenship before coming here or something.

For one of his job's he was sent to US for one of the corporate offices so he would go back and forth once and a while and he was able to get one back then. Since then he has kept it and is able to renew it all the time. So he is safe to drive without a problem. It's the rest of us in the family that can't.

So, how about you shift a bit sooner so you don't get pulled over for being too loud? You roll around in 1st gear, it's annoying, people are going to notice. You start to shift at 3000RPM, you're just some run of the mill person, driving around.

For better, or worse, we are a community.

This kind of helps make my point of good and bad. While the good may not be "legal" they are still worth keeping here, and making it easier for them to come forward.

Yeah, and they just find more people to blame for it.
I think the only people that are really against the whole thing are those who haven't really heard the truth. They only hear bad things that go on in the news..

Nah, not offended what so ever. Every one has their opinions but every one should be open minded about it and not just being stubborn about it.

We have had plans to travel to New York or some places where they once allowed anyone to get a license but traveling across the country in a car is such a mission and its not like we would be able to take 2 weeks off from work and have enough money saved up to do it.

We are just waiting for that day where a bill of some sort is passed allowing us to get a license or citizenship.

Lol and just for the record I could have gotten myself a Toyota or Mitsubishi, I chose domestic though :P

Nice Find.

I wouldn't be leaving the US though, All my friends, family, and my whole life is here. It's going to be 13 years that we have been here. I can't just throw away my life away and just go back to Mexico. Even if the economy here fails I'd still be here.

I can barely speak spanish but I can't even write it. Thats because I grew up here and got all my education here. I'd be so screwed in Mexico if I ever go back lol.

Well I got my citizenship when I was three, so I'm not really sure what to do about that. I do know that my grandma was going to a local high school that had citizenship classes, and I think all she had to do was memorize the national anthem and answer a few basic history knowledge questions.

Yeah, a few years before we got here, it was as easy as that.

I had some friends who had the same as us execpt they got here like 2-3 years before us.. the dad asked the mom if she wanted him to file the whole family for citizenship and shes like... Noo.. What for? stupid retards are now like struggling here when they could have easily done it.

They are just those dumb people who live their life at the moment and dont think of the future..

I don't see why they didnt.. wouldnt you want to have citizenship of another country even if you didnt need it at the time?

Now they are wishing they did it. Just stupidity at it's finest.
