Getting inspected

At this point, I haven't changed anything that would raise any eyebrows when I get my car inspected. But that will soon change. Here are my two biggest concerns: Removing the catalytic converter when I install my header, and putting an aftermarket steering wheel with no airbag in. Who here is running a no cat setup? What do you do for inspection? And what about stuff like the ever popular airbag delete panel? I even get my car inspected by a guy that i kinda know, but he won't let EVERYTHING slide. I don't think.

As in a car inspection so that you can renew your tags. Have you never done such a thing? It's pretty normal....

The airbag stuff probably won't pass......
As far as the No Cat......that's probably a bit tricky to get it to pass unless you don't throw a code, and your exhaust isn't loud.....

Tried to get my car Inspected this weekend with no passanger side air bag & it would have passed if it wasn't for my damn window tint. So my buddy gave me the sticker anyways. So it pays to know people

just find a sketchy garage, best way to get passes.....its a pain to take everything back off just for a few hours than to put it all back on again

Depends on where you live.
I passed mine with all my stuff but didn't have my UDP on at the time for the misfire code. It'll be tricky with out a cat unless like said, you don't throw any codes. Here in OH, if you have your CEL on it's an automatic fail. But if you find a garage that has people that couldn't give two shits about their job and the quality of their work... they may let you slide haha.

Yeah here its that way too. Anything with the OBII setup cannot throw a Code

Oh... you could try since well my place didn't even look under the car for a cat. Right before you head into the test station, pull into a parking lot next to the place, disconnect the battery for a few min, reconnect and hopefully your CEL will be gone. Check the codes by doing the On-Off sequence, if it doesn't show any codes then hurry and get to the station and run through and hope the CEL doesnt' pop on when they have you plugged in. Sometimes the PCM take a bit to read the O2 sensor and see that it's out of effiency... may give you enough grace period to get through without it popping on and failing you.
Thats what I'll be doing when I go through with my UDP if I have to next year. Disconnect battery, roll through taking care not to go above 5K lol... then pass with flying colors.

Hahaha, sounds like a plan. I think I'm going to punch my cat out, and keep the shell....and see if i can just throw it around the pipe somewhere to make it look like I have it installed. I don't have any codes right now, but I'll get one when I install the LT header...unless there is a better fix than the one that grindpunk posted. Has anyone actually figured out a way to keep that o2 sensor from eventually throwing a code when there is no cat installed?
EDIT - Woot! triple digit post count!
