My guess is someone else in the apartment building probably bought one so when he saw it he said that it was his. When the person wasn't looking he ran out with the sign and a buddy, sat on the hood of someone elses car and snapped a pic... then ran off. He just had to "get rid of it" because the person probably moved out of the apartment complex.

Very probable explanation.

The car was on Herzog-Meier's website- I remember looking it up and seeing it. After the story of the financing issue, I wondered if perhaps the car had been taken for a test drive and the pics taken then? He later posted a closeup pic of one of the wheels and asked people for information about the rims (I had saved the photo of him posing on the front of the SRT and the pic of the car with rims was an OB and you could tell that it was at this same location). Again, too bad that he seems to feel the need to exaggerate to impress.

The F and I guy at the dealer goes out to try and get you bought by a bank... (You're waiting)

So the F&I guy comes back out and says "hey the car is yours".... AWESOME!!!...Right

So you sign the deal...Never actually seeing the approval for your loan...(big mistake)

You drive it home and then a few weeks goes by....you get a phone call from the F&I guy..

"hey XXX how is the car?... well I'm glad you like it unfortunately the bank is going to need another $6000 from you by the end of the week, because of (fill in blank). Oh you cant do that? I'm sorry we will have to take back the car and give you X amount of your down back."

Yeah so it's possible... it's old school but it does happen still

You all are welcome. As soon as I spotted the ad on Craigslist, I emailed it to myself because I knew it would come in handy. NWSRT4 is my usual hangout and almost everyone on there talks shit to him. I didn't have to try hard to make it happen, either. He does most of the work himself.
