Red car: Took out backseat, drove it about 3 miles to charge up the battery.

Green car: Drove to gym, home, Japanese supermarket to hang with friends, sat in traffic.

broke my third clutch pedal bushing today and decided to make my own out of a nylon spacer, washer and an e-clip.

Seems to work, so hopefully there are no long term problems

Started my car for the first time in 2 years!

Massive rebuild after a head gasket failure and a warped head... needless to say, I'm pumped!

Realized the hood is more tree sap than paint at this point.

Im on full megasquirt with only two days before carlisle... alot of auto tuning (T-pain style) on 90, so this thing will make it to PA.

Oh and GM weatherpacks are tedious and 90* weather doesnt help the cause..

1. Installed the leather armrest that I bought from 1972demon (it looks great Ben!).
2. Used a toothbrush and Dawn to clean the engine bay (anywhere I could fit the toothbrush, no lie, very exhausing in this heat :sleepy3: ).
3. Used generic Q-Tips to clean out the A/C louvers and around the screws inside of the door pulls (the driver's door pull looked like someone had picked his nose in the little groove around the screw- YUCK!).
4. Discovered that where Ziebart drilled a hole for rustproofing the rear driver's side doorsill is rusting just like its counterpart on the passenger side. :cussing: Guess that I'll have to make another trip to Ziebart for sanding/repainting when I get back from Carlisle.

Shoved it into the garage and started draining fluids and prepping for my motor swap. Also disconnected the engine harness and labeled the connectors

Installed my color-matched stock, folding side mirrors. Easier than I thought it was going to be... took roughly 15 minutes.

Removed pass. seat, rear seat, floor mats minus drivers, spare tire & jack, Some random tools. Still need to remove the back portion of the rear seat, those big bolts with torx heads take forever to come out.

Drove it.

Other than filling it with gas, scheduled maintenance and necessary repairs to keep it going... driving it is all I intend on doing with it as this point until it gets sold or traded for something newer, bigger and more roadworthy.

Technically this was yesterday...

I got the car washed and the tree sap covering 3/4 of the hood cleaned off.

I did nothing for my 2nd gen today....I worked on a friend's 2nd gen SXT instead.

However, I grabbed a funnel and put it in the trunk of my 2nd gen, to keep it there for when I put additives into the gasoline. (think Lucas Injector cleaner, Marvel Mystery Oil, etc.)

The poor 2nd gen has been somewhat neglected, while I finish parting out my old '95 Neon and CLEANING OUT my junkyard of a garage. :)
Then, it will be the 2nd gen to get it's turn in the garage, for some badly needed TLC. ( Timing Belt, and Lower Control Arm Bushings !!!! )

Going out to tighten a nut on the exhaust that came loose, and is now rattling at low speeds.
