Took the SRT in to be sanded/repainted where Ziebart had drilled holes for spraying their anti-rust chemicals. The passenger-side C pillar doorsill was repainted last December and it had already started to rust again. The driver's side had started rusting in the same spot. My Ziebart manager says that he has never known this to happen before and that, in his opinion, it has more to do with the quality of factory finish than anything that Ziebart has done. All I know is that there are now two compromised areas of my car and I'm worried that the rust will continue to return.

So, to get this straight... having Ziebart "rustproof" your car seems like a waste of money. Am I reading that correct?

I honestly don't know. It just seems to be where the paint was broken where the holes were drilled. I'm afraid that the next time it rusts, I'll have to take it to a body shop and have the entire door frame area sanded and repainted. I was showing people at Carlisle where the "blend line" is on the passenger-side doorsill (it looks like cloudy overspray where there had been really shiny paint). The repair guy told me today that the only thing that he can do is to move the blend line closer to the B pillar and that, if the rust continues, I'll eventually have to have the entire door frame repainted.

Sounds like wasted money to me. Not trying to be a dick or anything about it, but my 04 has only tiny rust spots starting where it's been nicked with rocks or other such objects, and I almost never wash/wax it. Seems like Ziebart drilling through the factory finish is what is causing the rust.

Sucks too hear gramps
Yesterday/last night- pulled the engine/tranny out of my "new" 2002 R/T, pulled the head 12 out of 16 valves bent. Freshened up Canada's factory prototype motor with new timing belt, seals/gaskets and a Comp 400. Swapped the R/T tranny on to the new motor.
today- I'm going to drop the motor in and hopefully break the cam in

I sent out payments for Eibach sportline springs and a L.E.D. third brake light to install on it.
