car accidents FTL
Driving back from Fairfax, VA this morning I got rearended on I-66. Very minor damage for me, but the person behind me go hit hard. A Solara hit a Sentra, which hit me. The person in the Solara decided it would be a good idea to leave, while the person in the Sentra said should couldn't feel her arm. I took a pic, it's in my photobucket but the network at work is slow and would take forever to link.
Waited for the cop to come, which props to VA State Police it was pretty fast. Then an hour later after all of the BS I headed out. The woman in the Sentra was totally out of it. Probably shouldn't be driving and definitely should go to the hospital, but she didn't want an ambulance.
The cop was a prick, but he was probably pissed that someone left the scene. Then it pissed him off more when the tag I gave him was registered to a PO Box.
I was able to give the officer a full description of the car including, make, model, color and tag number and a partial of the driver. That person picked the wrong person to fuck with when it comes with car recognition.

That sucks. Was this in the Prius?
Hopefully the person that left the scene gets their ass burnt!

Yeah, it was in the Prius.
If the cops don't get this person then they are idiots. I gave them everything they need.

VA state police are the biggest assholes. I don't know why, They are just all pricks. And I am usually the biggest defender of police. It has to be a poor leadership issue.racer12306 wrote:Yeah, it was in the Prius.

66 is a mess. There are accidents on there constantly. Mostly because people from VA/MD can't drive to save their life.

On my way to Fairfax I saw the backup. Then when the job was cancelled after I got on site, all I could think of was that backup. Then right next to me there was a Santa Fe that hit a Caliber. The Sante Fe probably looked at us and then whamo. idiots.

I was out of the car, but the other woman didn't get out. I was talking to her while on the phone with the 911 dispatch.

It was kind of funny. The 911 dispatch was talking to me, then I saw the person leave and I yelled at them remember this number and then told them the tag.

Glad that you are okay. Good thing that you know your cars so that you got a good description of the idiot that left the scene.
Several years ago, an Olds Omega contacted the passenger-side rear wheel on my 1GN in traffic on I-465. The Olds then smashed into a guardrail (narrowly missing diving into the White River) and spun around to face the traffic while pieces flew everywhere. Just as I was running up to the Olds, another car pulled up and everyone (all teenagers) except for the driver jumped into it and sped off. The driver was 16 and was driving her aunt's car. She tried to get into the other car with her friends but I grabbed her by the arm and held onto her until the police arrived. Was I ticked.

Well it seems like someone is going to have a nice present at their doorstep. A nice gentleman in a blue uniform waiting to inspect their car and take them to the station.
Why is it so hard to stay at the scene? I've heard of a lot of people doing it recently. It's much better to stay and help out or whatever it is that you need to do. Running just makes you look stupid and gets you in trouble. Luckily no one was hurt seriously but if they were the run away would be screwed!
How's the damage?

It will be interesting to see if the middle driver is really hurt. But it's not me so it's not really my concern.
Visible damage is very minor. Once we learn more its going to the shop to get checked out. The PCM didn't freak out so nothing high tech is broken.

So you are saying that you werent mangled by the non-existant battery acid?
I'm willing to bet that this driver didn't have insurance, OR a valid (suspended or revoked) driver's license.rOniN wrote:

I'll be submitting a request for the accident report tomorrow.
Pretty damn stupid, I have to show up in person (1+ hour away from work) or submit a written request. I guess the 21st century of email, or god forbid the 20th century of faxing is too advanced for the VA State Police.

^ Hahah!
Hit and runs anger me so much. It's so selfish, cowardly, and inhumane. However much I wish you weren't involved in an accident, I'm glad your keen eye and reflexes were present so that justice could be served.
