Isn't any out there that is new enough and has as low miles as I want. Plus I have a neon as a toy. Need something different for a daily. Otherwise I will just mod the shit out of the daily neon and then by the time you know it I have two bagged kitted neons and no daily lol.OB wrote:^Still haven't come up with a valid excuse for not getting another Neon!

Why no respect for Cobalts? Because they are Chevy?

What makes you think you won't mod the shit out of a Cobalt? It's basically Chevy's version of the Neon. You need to get a luxury sedan or a SUV or something, that's the only way to avoid the mod bug.kornholio788 wrote:Isn't any out there that is new enough and has as low miles as I want. just dont like the balts at all fells like such a shitty car.
i had 1 for a rental and it was the worst ride sucks and interior fells like toys that can break anytime.
for what you going to pay for a balt i prefer to get a 25-30k tc and rock that. just my idea of it.

How in the hell does a 10k brand new zero mile balt compare to a 25-30k tc?SOKADAO954 wrote:nope not at all love em too, 08 impala ss is 1 of my choice of new car.racer12306 wrote:Why no respect for Cobalts? Because they are Chevy?

ohh and lets not talk about best resale value.
dont know dude i just hate the wat the non turbo/supercharger balts look. but its your choice make the best of it.
edit: and i work for lexus and we use 2 tc for delivery, bank runs etc.
we have 2 of them 1 of them already has 180k and it ride like its brand new. only thing that broke on 1 of them was a ac blower motor and a alternater. for a car with 180+ k thats not bad at all.
im not tryng to be an ass just puting my ideas out there.

Can someone please show me proof that a tC is more reliable than a Cobalt or a Neon or an Ion or a Focus or, well you get my point. Yes it's a Toyota, blah blah blah.
I guess all the Chrysler products in both mine and my wifes family have been flukes.
I hate people arguing reliablility. If you abuse a car it's going to die an early death, regardless of the brand. Take care of the car and it will take care of you. Yes there are problem cars, but you will run into that with every brand.

^This
there is next to no difference between same level trim econocars. Dan at least has the right mind and just wants something newer. Obviously he doesn't give two shits about speed, or he'd be looking at a car with forced induction.
Some of you guys are unreal anymore.
All this brand/model loyality is fucking stupid. Branch out a little and understand the car manufacturer you choose to go with isn't the best fucking thing out there. There ARE other options you can choose. When we're talking about SXT's and LS's it's all the same thing. Cheap ass car that will get you from point A to B and that's about it.
Newer low miles car > Old ass neon that's been though hell and back

"Life is too short to drive a boring car"
So lets find you something mildly interesting. There are $10000 Ferraris, Lambos, ect but they tend to be either high millage cars with limited service history or cars that people put away and have sort of deteriorated over time. You want something super reliable look in the world of Japanese supercars, early NSXs are sub $20000 for near perfect ones now Im sure a $10000 one cant be too hard to find. But for a pair of guaranteed answers look at:
3000 GT/Stealth: Super car looks and performance and I have yet to find one for more than 10k sans the ASC hard top conv.
Watercooled Porsche: 924/944 and 928 and abundance of nice DDs for less than your cobalt. Dont let the badge scare you most of it is VW parts fairly cheap cars to own.
Keep in mind supercars tend to lead a sheltered life and are very well kept after do not let age or millage scare you away from some great cars.

thank u.... nothing elz needs to be said!!!
but i still love u guys..
but if u must get the balt get the coupe...... now that i would own. butthe sedan hell nooooooo.
It's funny, I know a girl who has a newer Cobalt sedan and she wants to trade it in for a TC.
IMO, neither car is very cool. The TC is so played out it's stupid. And in case no one noticed, it's also the #1 girl car on the planet now that the Cavalier is gone...

You guys are so retarded. I never would have guess this is such a tough concept.
Wasted my time with most of you guys. Only like 3 people were able to see what I was saying/wanted. The others wanted me to spend 30k or buy a high mile used. Completely not what I wanted.
You guys def showed your bright sides *fail)

Seriously, some people really need to start reading whole threads before responding.

IF YOU WANT THE COBALT GO BUY IT STOP ASKING QUESTIONS seriously if that is what you decided to buy go get it. If you ask for peoples opinion you are going to get it. To you what constitutes high millage? If you have to have something new really your only sub 10k choices are an accident or a rio. If you are willing to venture to the world of used cars who is to say that a car with 15k on it that has lived like a rental car is in better condition than a loved TC with 40k or an overly loved 944 with 25k? How about you go find a list of cars you like that are within 5k of your price range make some calls and do a very careful inspection of the car if you have any doubts have your mechanic do it, in fact either way have him look it over because he will be more impartial than you. Anybody can talk a dealer down 5k especially anybody with cash or a cashiers check.
BTW TDI VWs and Audis regularly go 300-400k with no major problems look into one of those perhaps

I wasn't asking what car to buy. You just didn't read at all. I said what milage i am looking at. I said what year. I said that I am looking at the cobalt. I said what price range. I asked what people thought of the car.
Reading > you.

I bought a used Balt and the only problem I've had so far is the power steering which is I'm going to get worked on. It's a little touchy during hot weather: it goes off while driving.
I can keep complaining about it but thank god I got it with a 3 year warranty.
I don't know why they switched the PS from hydraulic to electric.
Besides that I'm happy with what I've got.
I just find the auto light annoying. I wanna control my own headlights!
I could've bought a TC but I didn't buy the Cobalt due to brand loyalty: it's my first Chevy. I wanted something different.
