And I said that I thought all around a 944 would be a better car. If you disagree that is fine however all the money in the world woulnt get me to buy a used cobalt namely because there are much better choices out there(Focus, Civic, Sentra, and, Carolla) for similar but better cars.kornholio788 wrote:I wasn't asking what car to buy. You just didn't read at all. I said what milage i am looking at. I said what year. I said that I am looking at the cobalt. I said what price range. I asked what people thought of the car.
Reading > you.
Thinking about buying a balt.

Reread everything for a third time now somebody explain what exactly the intellectually superior of you are getting that we're not? This is what Ive gathered:
You want to replace your old BMW which you give no history on so you mistrust all older cars? Therefore you stipulate 2 things:
about $7000 for a budget
Less than 50000 miles
You go onto say you are looking at Cobalts and you want to know what people think of them, okay fine in my mind a Cobalt in any flavor is the automotive equivalent of cake flower, not the most boring thing in the world but close. I know a few people with them, hubs and wheel bearings tend to be a weak spot especially on cars that are driven hard. The interior feels cheap and plasticy. A friend of mine destroyed his clutch in his within a few weeks, I suspect this to be his driving style more than anything
For the same $7000 a low millage current gen focus or civic could be found, I have heard of no issues with the current Focus and while its not much more interesting than the Cobalt I can as a statement of fact say the interior is a nicer place to spend time. If its your DD shouldnt it be as comfortable as possible.

i was just recently checking out some cobalts online too..... because yeah i'm sooner rather than later going to have to replace the neon. i'm sick of it.
$7-8Kish brings in a 2007 with fairly good mileage. maybe an 08 if lucky. But......... compared to some other cars I was checking out.. why are there SO MANY used cobalts for sale? why is everyone dumping their cobalt? hmmmmm.
id prefer to find a used car under $5K, but that will mean old and high miles..... need to avoid that.

Got a guy comming to look at the bimmer today for 3500. That will make for a great down payment. As I need to use the gm dollars by the end of the month or they expire.
Still looking at the cobalt. I will never get a caliber lol. Ugly car.
