I respect all that he has done for music.

He died 400 million in debt.Midnight_Rider wrote:Come on people, some of these comments are really disrespectful, especially the timing. Give it a few days if you feel the need to make jokes.
Too bad that everything about him seemed to go to **** in a handbasket. He was astute business-wise, taking Sir Paul McCartney's advice about investing in music publishing (and edging out Sir Paul himself and Yoko Ono/John Lennon's Estate in buying Northern Songs/MacLen Music when it was up for sale several years back).
Most people die with some measure of debt left behind. In this case we are talking about someone who earned billions so the scale is quite a bit different.PhillyLS1 wrote:He died 400 million in debt.Midnight_Rider wrote:Come on people, some of these comments are really disrespectful, especially the timing. He had a huge impact on the world of music during his time. If you don't realize that then you have either been living in a cave or are letting your dislike for him get the better of you.He wasn't a music icon.
Never proven. He was a child molester.
You contradicted yourself up there.I'm sure he's nice and warm right now. Well, if there was such a thing as a hell, and there isn't.

Why should I care about him dieing? Soldiers die almost everyday in today's modern conflict and they don't get nearly as much attention as this freak.Midnight_Rider wrote:Come on people, some of these comments are really disrespectful, especially the timing. While I agree with you to a point on the publicity aspect, remember that with out the "freaks", the $ generated that is therefore taxed, would not be there to support our military. While I respect the military's service, it seems all too often the military does not reciprocate to the civilians that feed it.neonpla wrote: Why should I care about him dieing? Agreed. An older guy told me the version I posted at work and I kinda smirked, then after I posted a buddy texted the version you posted, much better.jT wrote:fail.
not even funny.
When Farrah Fawcett arrived in heaven, god granted her 1 wish. She wished for all of the world's children to be safe. So god killed Michael Jackson.
much funnier
Have you served? And the military should thank the general public for their tax money? Is that what you're trying to say?occasional demons wrote:While I agree with you to a point on the publicity aspect, remember that with out the "freaks", the $ generated that is therefore taxed, would not be there to support our military. Everything is dependent on something. It takes both sides to make it whole..

That is what I got to from his post. I also perceived his compliment to be rather backhanded. While yes the are dependent on one another to a degree. You do understand that this country will cut funding to a lot of things and may dissolve programs but the one part of the federal gov't that gets money come hell or high water is the military. If it wasn't for the military that you so "eagerly" respect people like Michael wouldn't be able to do the things he did. So during Vietnam and now, the soldiers ask for the scorn they receive when they walk through airports. Too many people pay attention to the media in this country too much and see things the way media wants you to see it. There hasn't been a good journalist in this country for 30 years and I am 100% there won't be one in the next 300. Comments about military reciprocating makes me sick. I guess the liberals on this board still believes the military to be full of baby killers and criminals.PhillyLS1 wrote:Have you served? No fuck that, I want mr one world to clarify what he's saying. I can't wait to hear more on this remarkable point of view.OB wrote:Even though this is in the Off Topic section, I ask that we try to get back to the point.
