DCR vs Hennessey

Post by Ntyvirus1 » Tue Aug 11, 2009 9:53 pm

got bored so i started lookin at hennessey's website (http://hennesseyperformancestore.com) according to that picture in the corner they have the worlds fasted 2010 camaro running 11.67, our buddies over at DCR have the "red sled" which runs in the 9's ( i saw a 9.39 in Gainesville a while back). So much for chevy power :owned: thought it was kinda funny/badass ( as for the people that will bring up the ZR1 vette, thats another topic all together)

Hennessey Performance is about 2 hours from me, and if you know anything about them you'd know DCR has NOTHING on them. $35,000 twin turbo GT40R Jeep SRT8. Yah.

the camaro is to easy to build power into it just toss a big block into it.

Hennessey is more into here is your 1001hp Viper or Ford GT ect. They do the stuff that normally isn't done.

The question should be who is the better scam artist?
DCR: Rebraned stock parts sold at a huge premium
Hennessy: Venom 600Rs shipping with stock engine components. Various cars being parted out without owner consent

Hennessy turbo cars arent exactly known for reliability either

Hennessy also has quite a colourful history in regards to fulfilling customer orders in an expedient manner.

Shame, cause they build some wicked cars.

I am also kinda confused why we are comparing a RWD V8 with some pretty straight forward mods, to a FWD Turbo I4 that is a fully fully built race car?

Keep in mind viperalley is sort of the deregulated 2gn of the viper world. This post shows just how much of an ass John Hennessey is:

This is a pretty thorough compilation of all of his wrong doing:

Comparing the fastest SRT4, which hasn't been produced in 4 years, to the fastest 2010 Camaro, in its first year of production, just doesn't make sense.

hmm...you might want to compare it to the Challenger or something along those lines. It is most closely related to a Mustang though.

Give the Camaro guys some time and those Camaros will run just as fast as that neon. The neon has had a lot of time to get everything dialed in and the people know which parts work.

Hennessey has done some good things with cars but other companies can do it just as well or better for cheaper. I worked with a guy with an older style venom 500 viper and that thing really goes. Plus he drives it about 4-5 times a week.

Give it a little more time and there will be a 2010 Camaro running 9s on pump gas.

considering the tuning window for a RWD proven V8 is a million times bigger than that of a FWD I4T...

EDIT- and this topic is stupid. It pisses me off. I'm going to go punch some kids at the playground in the face to calm myself down.

Your ricer logic is staggering.

Here's food for thought:
That "red sled" is a race car/shop car with a gazillion dollars dumped into it. Barely runs, isn't street legal and is potato chip'd Runs 9's.

My buddy's 2002 WS6 has a TH400, heads, cam, and 200 shot runs 9's. He works at the post office. Drives it every day.

Can the red sled turn? Because I'm pretty sure this can:

You Mopar guys will never run like that LOL
