Friend's car was stolen...

Post by LowNSlow » Thu Aug 13, 2009 10:51 pm

Well my best friend was taking his contacts out round 3am to goto bed and he heard his car turn on. He immediately ran to the window to see the tail lights of his car down the road as it drove away.

There was literally nothing he could do... he called the police and filed a report. (This happened yesterday btw)

They're actually looking for it though because he got a call from a cop to come down to sonic and check this car out he was holding. It was a black on black 240 similar to his...but it was a hatch.

Good thing they're actually looking for it though.... even though we had someone tell us they saw it in Slidell Louisiana....:(

He'll probably never get it back...it really sucks. His 240 is the one that made me want to get one.... we both have put a lot of work into it....and now it's gone.

He had liability insurance by the way....

I have upgraded my insurance plan and installing some kill switches... even though if they want it bad enough they will take it...those fkers are gonna have to flat bed it.

Hope you're found in one piece.... even though it's not likely :(

Car doesn't even look like it has wheels.
How can someone just drive off in someones car. Someone missing a security device?

Man that sucks...my friend had his car stolen and they took it straight to Gary, Indiana and stripped in. Cops found it in a parking lot on blocks. He got it back but it's like it got raped and left for dead and now it's just not the same.

I hope they find it before it gets torn apart.

He had liability and no alarm or anti-theft at all on it? That's not the smartest, but that really does suck.

When you're broke.... you're broke.

He had to wait for income tax to atleast get liability on insurance.... no way he could have afforded full coverage. He's been out of a job for a while....so no way to pay for an alarm or anything.

I don't have an alarm on my car.. it's a 89 coupe that's worth 1800 kbb...manual everything. I do have theft coverage though.

auto insurance is always more expensive when you don't already have coverage.

I've had liability only on my 98 since I bought it. Adding any thing to it almost doubles my insurance payment on it. It's been hit once too which sucks, since I can't afford to fix it either.

Good luck man, hopefully she turns up.

True enough, then the situation is understandable. Any word on it yet?

They put his coilovers on another car in the shop....

He's getting em back...

He took a nice alpine cd player off the shelf...

Looks like they really only had a chance to start to change the color for the most part? A*Holes deserve what they are going to get. Glad to see it's back and pretty much alright.

I don't get why they would start painting it... the vin would still be a tag to a stolen vehicle.

I'm sure they were going to swap VINs off other cars? Maybe a shell they had?

They had quite a few 240s there... not sure how many were stolen.

What they did to that car is just plain darn awful :(

Probably a quick way to get people looking for the wrong cars --> Looking for a black one instead of a white one.
