Hello everyone, I just found this site. I recognize some of your usernames from detroitneonowners.
I am from Garden City Mi.
I drive a 2003 silver R/T.
Interior mods are Motostorm chrome guage rings and MOMO shift knob.
Exterior mods are complete SRT4 body style all the way around except side skirts because I like the R/T ones better.
SRT rear section exhaust with R/T mid section. R/T resonator removed and replaced with 28" glasspack.
I had an intake but it was useless so I got rid of it.
Best times at the track were 16.2 because I had no idea what I was doing a full tank of gas and bigger 17" SRT wheels (before exhaust mod)

Other than a cool sound I found no gains. So I just removed it and went back to stock. Nobody could produce any dyno results that convinced me it worked and most blame the stupid computer for removing any gains you initially had. I not noticed gains personally.
Some claim good results so for them it is a good thing. For me it is not worth sucking water into the intake. (this is rare but it has happened)
I am only speaking for the R/T. I have no idea how it works on sxt's
If you still want the cool sound, just remove the airbox cover.

Nice looking...
Now as for the Intake, I dont care what car you have, An cold air intake system will always perform better then stock no matter what. Removing the top of your airbox will just draw in more warm at, possibly hurting performance.
Anyway enough of my Rant... I bet people try to race you all the time.

as for the CAI, any type of intake inhaling air from outside your engine compartment is better than your OE setup. Even if you dont feel it, colder air is better. Even if its only a 5degree difference, colder air intake is better.
Thats why most of the people here in the forum switched to an ebay intake. its cheap, and it does the same job as the $150-$250 intake. Hell, the intake im using is a $40 autozone special, and the seat of the pants dyno tells me it is the same as a K&N drop in in the factory box(without the resonator of course)
