SRT or Corvette?

To get the SRT I want its going to cost a lot more than I excited to pay for a 5 year old neon. C5(corvettes for people that like nice things) arent all that much more plus I dont need to get on a plane to pick up any of these cars

i dunno, u can buy corvettes all day in my opinion, they are everywhere.

ide go with something that you dont see every day.

srt4 u really dont see many of any more unfortunatly. but im kinda a 4 cyl junkie so thats just me. it'd be kinda fun to be the "underdog" little guy then just paste the comp with a 4 cyl.

The only issue is that according to Mox, the SRT can be unpredictable at the limit. For the purpose BYR is going to use it for I would think that puts the SRT out of the game.

I honestly don't know how the C5s are, but I'd be surprised if they weren't awesome. The aftermarket is insane for LS engines and C5s. The only problem is the cost of the aftermarket. I think a catback is like $1300 for a good one.

yup, big power on a heavy frame = big $$$

smaller frame smaller engine less $$$

u can throw a better set of rods, and pistons, maybe sleeve the block if u plan on like 750 hp couldnt u? whats the unpredictable part?

You guys know me too well  Seriously the vette is going to be the posermobile you know roll up to the party "Yes that's my corvette who wants to sleep with me"

The only mental road block is this would be my third GM vehicle Ive bought this year (Monza and Blazer to tow it)

Yeah an SRT specifically a high power one is a bit sketchy at the limit I cant imagine that the vette wont be but its all part of the fun.

SRT 2900lb
Z06 3100lb

It would appear that 750 driveable horsepower is but a turbo kit away I dont think Ill be needing that

i'd never own a corvette myself. awesome platform, but there are two in the parking lot here at work right now, and another across the street.

i see 2-3 on a daily basis, and on weekends holyshit they're everywhere. it'd drive me nuts

RWD>FWD
8 cyl>4 cyl

The extra weight may actually help it.

Like I said the aftermarket for the LS engines are insane. Want 600hp on pump gas and still get 25+mpg, yeah you can do it.

Shit, GM just had a company build an LS engine based on the LSx (yes this is stronger than any production street block). It has two 88mm turbos moving 25psi on pump gas. It is tuned with an Accel DFI and makes 2048hp (no that is not a typo).

I <3 LSx

SRT's are probably worse than a vette

Without shopping around its like $300/month for the vette and the blazer which isnt too bad

Look I love SRT-4 as much as next neon enthusiast but a Vette for the most part will not have the piss already beat out of it like most of the SRT-4s on the market. My next car will be a used version of one of the new style Vettes if my math is correct 8>4 most of the time.

i dont understand how you get the money to have as many cars as you do.

Here is a brief rundown of my recent car history:
Mom bought me Harold, I spent about $1500 on it with the parts and such I sold it for $2000, turned a profit. The Tbird was $1500 I sold it for $2300. The green 1gn I traded John for the Blazer was free. The Monza was free. STella(which is for sale now) has about $1400 for sale with some interest for $2000.

Id make a pretty good car dealer actually

I agree. I was actually talking about that the other day...I would pick my srt-4 or 350z over a corvette any day.

well, when I was tracking at Portland all but 1 corvette broke down with serious problems... In fact it was the corvettes that caused all the problems on the track that day. The SRT 4s were running circles around most the others... sooooooooooo..... I'd say SRT yo.

i would go buy an evo nine before a vette.....

and i HATE that body style vette anyway...

I would take the corvette if you plan on having a race car. It is a much better platform to work with. It is expensive but with 5k you can get 700hp in a car that weighs a little bit more than an SRT.

It was a toss up between a 06-08 Z06, an 07 Lotus Exige S, or a brand new Challenger SRT and I think I came out on top. The other cars are super fast but lacked a few things and the Challenger had it all, including the looks although it wasn't nearly as fast.

You wont go wrong with a Corvette...

Corvette. My buddy bought a stock one from his aunt. Stock with a K&N filter and a shifter went 13.2. With road course slicks (yes) he went 12.90's. The only thing he has to do right now is the "drill mod" to the clutch line, since it has a restrictor in it stock for old men that drive it.
