oops i got pulled over today!
Posted: Fri Sep 11, 2009 9:20 pm
well some ppl infront of my on my way to work thought it would be fun to go 40 when there was cars comming and then speed up to like 60 when it would be ok to pass, after about 2 miles of this i got pissed and passed, didnt go over 65MPH and what do i see as im gettin back into my lane, a trooper following a pick up, he turns around, pulls me over, asks " do u know why i pulled you over" and i reply, yes i was doing 65 in a 55, then he tells me he clocked me @ 72, asks if there stock size tires on the car, wanted to know why i have a 45 day temp reg. on the window, i ask him how he can clock me @ 72 when my speedo said 65 and that was before i even saw him, and i told him there is no way he could clock me doing anything bc of the way traffic was, there wasnt even enough room btwn him and the truck he was following to put a peddle bike. he goes back to his car, 1 min later comes back with a ticket for " disobeyed traffic control device" so i called the DA's office today, and got reductions papers, just my luck though, 2 weeks ago i got in a car accident , this week i get a ticket, and find out that if you get any tickets that can effect the insurance of work vehicles ( being im a deleivery person) that i can be terminated from my position!!

I used to drive professionally... semi's.
When your living depends on that driver's licence you learn to protect it... and that means keeping emotions in check and not getting pissed because someone else is acting like an ass.

Except I am currently that way. I have driven 38,000 miles in my company car and probably another 25,000 - 30,000 miles on rental cars since February 2008 and luckily I haven't got a ticket. My last ticket was December 2006, not too bad imo.
Regardless of what happened go to court.

ya thats a little problem for me, i get road rage bad when ppl do that shit, i like to set my CC @ 60 mph , and when i cant set my CC it irritates me, and im not going to court, im just gonna get the reduction from the DA and then pay the fine, the judge in the town i got the ticket doesnt like my dad , so if i dont talk to him he wont ask me if im related when he sees my last name, and then wont soak it to me on the fine, ( but all i really care about is the points, i dont want any more points on my license, i have 4 rt now from a ticket from 3 years ago when i had a roush car and got pulled over doing 115 in a 55) almost lost it there.

Sounds like a personal problem....
Need to keep your cool...and not act a fool to the cop.
Just because your speedo says 65... it doesn't mean it's not off.

ya i know it doesn't mean its not off, but i still think he is full of shit, if that was the case when i was in town where its 30mph and im doing 30 so says the speedo, then id really be doing 37mph and a cop would have pulled me over before now!, i think the trooper was just looking for a ticket to write, i mean i know i was in the wrong, passing 2 cars and going 10 mph over the limit, but don't make shit up to write a ticket!. and just to clarify, all i said was there was no way he could have clocked me doing anything, the part after that was just a statement to all of you reading this, ...... sorry about the bad grammar English wasn't one of my better subjects in school.

I set my speedometer needle a little farther ahead of what i'm actually going. So when my speedo says 50 i'm really going something like 40-45. It's not big enough to really notice so most of the time i catch myself speeding a little bit it's not as bad as the speedo says or what i think it is. It keeps me in check so I don't do anything stupid. I'm also a delivery driver and having my license is critical to my job. The last ticket i got was in February of 06 and that was my only ticket.

ya the last ticket i got before this was in aug of 2006 and that is the only thing on my driven record other then a cell phone ticket in feb 2006

Cell phone ticket?
I got a non-inspection ticket last year cause i had no job and didn't have much money to get my car inspected so i risked it and got caught. 65 bucks just cause i couldn't afford the $35 inspection fee. sooo $100 later i was even more broke. I even made the local news cause they were doing a special report on people selling shit on CL to pay bills and such.

That's gay. In NH we got live free or die as our motto but lately living free hasn't been going too good. No seatbelt law over 18 and other shit like that but now they have a no texting law while driving. Yeah i think it's stupid to text while driving but the government shouldn't make it a law.

For some reason whenever I get the urge to floor it and burn some gas...I always get these feelings to slow down
I'd say more then 50% of the time there is some kind of hidden radar or a cop ahead.
Knock on wood.
