She wouldn't be comfortable driving it. She has had bad luck when it comes to borrowing cars.

I'd be fine with a quick trip to the store but what if I need to go to White Marsh? minimum 1 hour trip, not gonna happen.

She doesn't need to be comfortable driving the Prius since it'll (hopefully) never happen.

Sean, the one car thing isn't gonna happen. I'm not comfortable at all with that situation.

Because you fail to see the logic behind it and how it will save you money, and are selfishly wanting a sports car.

DUDE, WHAT THE FUCK IS YOUR ISSUE.

No shit it would save money, cash from two car sales, no insurance, maintenance, etc.

Did you ever think maybe I can afford if? You don't know how much I make, how much my wife makes.

I said this a few posts ago, which I don't think you read. I WILL NOT FUCK MYSELF OVER. I know what the hell I'm doing when it comes to my money.

You have told me how much you both make, so yes I fucking know how much you make. Don't you dare talk to me like I'm some piece of shit who doesn't know what the fuck he is talking about. I'm speaking logically, you are speaking with what you want, not what you fucking need. Grow the fuck up. Either be a dad with a sensible car or just the company car, or be a kid with the hot rod... Jesus fucking Christ dude...

When did I tell you how much I make? I don't remember that.

I like the dad with a hot rod plan. Beside, hot rod imply its a bad ass bitch. we are only talking about a stock camaro here.

Your opinion is that a parent needs family car, aka minivan/SUV. Mine isn't, if I can deal with putting a kid in the back of a coupe what does it matter? Is the car safe? yes. Am I gonna drive like a dumbass with the kid in the car? No. You don't need a Camaro to do that, some people on this forum have proved that.

I need a car and I want it to be a Camaro. Nothing wrong with that, its my back that will hurt from putting a kid in the car, no one elses.

You and I had the discussion some time ago when I was considering applying for a job in your field of work.

And I do. Because I was worried that it wouldn't pay as much as I make, so you told me. I don't know the exact number, but I know the roundabout number you gave.

Quick trips to the grocery store = bicycle with backpack.

It is energizing and refreshing... and you save money.

This thread is all about spending money... I'm in the wrong spot! :-)

almost every thread you get into it with someone. Bro no lie, You good guy but PEOPLE dont think the way you do. And going pages and pages of this thread will not change the way Frank think's. You gave your toughts, and he does not agree with you, End of story. Drop it and be on with life. For real.

Janet made a great point. Do what makes you happy, What makes you smile puts a bigger smile on your wifes face too!!!

Go for it!!!!

And you can feel free to mind your own business about what I do. Frank and I have been talking about this a few days longer than this thread has been up, in fact, our discussion about it is the reason it was posted in the first place.

The whole purpose of a discussion is to let your opinion be known. I happen to feel that I am correct in this situation. Frank, obviously, feels the same. The purpose of this thread is to ask for people's opinion on this topic. Not your opinions on what I do or do not do. And certainly not a place to post up about how awesome the Camaro is like a couple earlier posters...

So, back on topic. Frank is wrong, I am right, Frank should sell everything and live in a cardboard box.

*bows to the random1 and asks forgiveness*

I could rack up money so fast with that. Get a super badass box, laminated and all, use my work computer and broadband card for the webs and I'd be in business.

There ya go! And you could even put the box in the alley behind the hospital, so Jessica wouldn't need that 2nd car!

If the thread was about whether the Camaro was cool or not, it would be a good opinion. And I would agree, it IS cool. But that's not what we're here to discuss today.

Drove by the local GM dealership this morning... and they had a nice white Camaro with black stripes on it sitting out front.

I'd have to give them both a test drive... but right now the Challenger has the edge with me.

$6000 is possible. We will just have to see what the two cars bring.

From what the Monte forum is saying $3500 is reasonable. I could probably ask for $4000 to start and see if someone likes it.

Jesus, I am gonna lock this thread pretty soon.

I think you should do whatever you want to do that makes you and Jess happy, aslong as you can reasonably afford it.

As far as kids at the track, I am gonna guess that Sean was never taken to the track as a child, nor is he quite as much of a motorhead as some of us (No offense intended budster :) ) However, when my brother and I were both younger, my father took us to the strip and the road course and we had amazing times together. Its part of what made us a family, its always brings back fond memories, its gotten me involved in cars, and its something we still enjoy doing as a family. Most tracks are so incredibly safe now, its not a worry. Slap in some earplugs and earmuffs and go watch racing!

Do it Frank ;)

$8500 should get you an okay LS1 car if Im looking right. Is your heart set on an F-body? Of all the issues that Keith mentioned I wonder which ones have fixes that he may not know about?

Like I said 98 Z28s show up around 4500-10k depending on mileage etc....

Be patient...

You can be a dad with a hot rod... long as your responsible and not racing with the kiddo in the back seat.

You don't need a mini van to have a kid.
