Oh god.

I highly doubt we would BAN hamburgers. Not only are people absolutely addicted to burger (including myself) but also a shit ton of fast food chains, frozen food services, and grocery stores sell a majority of hamburger meat.

Every year there is always SOMETHING that we claim has E. Coli and should be banished and what happens? A few months later we find out that we were wrong and push the blaim on something else. Anyone remember the spinach scare? That scare must have transfered to like three different vegetables before we finally agreed we were safe.

I call BULL shit.

I can understand the concern, however a ban on ground beer, or I guess any ground meat, is rediculous.

I'd be willing to bet the fast food industry is a $100 billion/year industry if not more. If we think the economy is in the shitter now, just imagine what it would be like if a ban on ground beef went down.

I think certified butchers is a solution worth investigating.

Effort should be placed in making meat safer, not banning it. Plus, as a consumer I should have a choice on whether I should "risk it" or not. When I make burgers, I buy the steak and ask the supermarket's butcher to grind it for me anyhow.

I got sick once eating ground beef... hamburger.

I don't know if there was something wrong with the beef or if it had not been cooked enough.

It felt like I was vomiting my insides out then when that stopped I felt rotten for a day... rotten enough that I took the day off work and spent it at home in bed.

I would not want this to happen to anyone on a regular basis.

I don't think this is gonna go anywhere. If they seriously did this because a few ppl died, they might as well keep every USA citizen in a plastic bubble and feed us through a tube for the rest of our lives. I swear ppl need to step back and think before they freakin panic over shit like this. I agree that meat should be inspected and possibly more thoroughly but not banned! there are worse things out there in our food that will hurt you.
