^my buddy just upgraded to one of those from the 1gn xB. He absolutely loves it.

It'd be something RWD or AWD for me. I'm actually putting some thought into this lately b/c I might be able to afford a new DD once I find an engineering job.

Something I forgot, dump 20k into the Monte. That would certainly take care of any reliability issues.

buy a 1gn, swap my r/t engine/trans in it, buy an srt-4 (wrecked) and swap the engine trans from it into the r/t. Then with the money leftover build both of them up.

i know its not original but its seriously what i'd probably do

I have been thinking a lot about this cause I am getting promoted in the summer and should have a lot of our bills paid off by then and could get another car. I want to keep my NEON, but other than that I am not sure what I want. Definatley needs to be RWD or AWD. Ideally I want a 4 door, 5 speed, that seats 5, RWD, with around 300hp. And so far the only thing that fits the bill is a BMW or a Mercedes and the price of repairs for either is crazy. I love the Lexus IS but only the 250 comes as a manual and that has a paltry 200hp or so...

Other cars I have considered:
Vette...intake and exhaust and I am done
350Z...heard they are a money pit when it comes to mods
WRX-great aftermarket, but smaller than my neon. Also the flat 4 is kinda confusing unto me. And they are EVERYWHERE around here!
Genesis Coupe- too much to mod on a new car to bring it up to snuff.
I am keeping an eye out for the new Toyota/Subie concept....that might be the answer!

I picked up a copy of Bimmer magazine cause they have a buyers guide for 10-15K range but all they talk about is expensive ass repairs. Apparently BMW does bare minimum maint. on there cars untl the warrenty is up and then the owner has to take care of a bunch of stuff that the dealership should have been doing along the way (belts, hoses, fluids, etc) so most people sell just before or just after the factory warrenty runs out....

Meh. I just bought a car. I don't need another one so soon. I'd just build up this motor like crazy and then do what I want with the rest. :-D

Legacy GT fits into what you want out of a car. The 06/07 could be had easily in that price range. Car hauls for what it is. Turbo AWD ftw :)

If I had 20k I'd give it to my boyfriend so we could re-do the Vette. We have five cars right now ha ha.

E36 M3 and light it on fire? MKII GTi and light it on fire.
Shop right and I can be under 10k for those

What you didnt see is where I removed the drive train from the M3 before the torching, get some tubes, some fiberglass, half a miata, and, some trailer lights build one hell of a BMW powered locost for the other half

Eh the Westfield would still be more fun

there is a nice Chevelle SS up the road from me...they are asking 14,500. I will probably look at it this weekend with my Dad.

I thought about the Legacy GT...a WRX with more room.

I still really like the looks of 3 series BMW, C class Mercedes, and the Lexus IS series.
