interesting...to say the least. I would like to see what will come of this new company and see what kind of products that they can come up with when they finally get rolling and not just borrowing things from Europe.

I was looking at it and couldn't figure it out. I was thinking it was something with those | but I didn't mess with it.

Sounds like a good idea. Dodge needs a major revamp, however I can't believe they are dumping the Grand Caravan since that propelled the Chrysler brand through the early to mid 90s. They basically invented the mini-can. I am surprised the PT lasted so long, 8 years is a good stretch for a car.

I'm sure people will be pissed that the cars won't be made in America (or will they?) but this is needed. I'll reserve final judgement for when the cars hit the shore and have some time.

I know, I am baffled! They damn well better come back with some other sort of mini-van, otherwise...bad move. What will all the soccers moms do?!

What I'm wondering is if Chrysler will still be producing the VW Routan if they plan on dropping their own Caravan...

(For people who don't know, Chrysler builds the VW Routan thus why they look so alike)

So with all those cars gone what is left in dodge's lineup?
Gone:
Dodge Avenger
Dodge Caliber
Dodge Grand Caravan
Dodge Nitro

Still there:
Charger
Challenger
Ram
Dakota
Sprinter

am I missing anything?

Well the Chrysler Town and Country is staying, and that's like the Grand Caravan, so Chrysler will still have a Mini-van. So they may still produce VW's

I think it's a good move. They have way to many cars currently available that are blah. Reduce models available, but make each one something to look at, and offer something other cars don't.

Forgot about the T&C, sounds stupid to keep the premium version and dump the base version.

The town and country will still be around.

From www.allpar.com

They said dodge will have trucks and "muscle cars"..

I don't know how much muscle fiat has..

The GC is not the base version, as far as I can work out the Caravan will still be around and the T&C takes over for the GC

... maybe they'll produce cars that people want to buy again. After the Viper and Challenger the Chrysler lineup is pretty WEAKSAUCE in it's current state.

Hopefully Fiat will make cars that look like cars as opposed to Dodge who liked to put truck front ends on everything.
