bag of rice + wet Phone = ok

has anyone ever heard the bag of rice trick.

the trick is when your phone batter gets wet you put the battery and phone in a bag of instant rice for a day or two and its works fine because the rice sucks out all the moisture.

I have never done this but am half tempted to try it.

Anyone ever do this before.

I've heard of it, never tried it though. I've always taken my phones apart when they got wet.

yeah but I have water proof already and was just wondering cause I think I'm getting a blackjack when my plan is up in the summer and those are not water proof and take my phone kayaking and it get wet quite often.

When I go out canoeing I just throw my phone in a ziploc. They do sell waterproof baggies too.

I went for a swim with my phone 1 time. I tried turning my phone on before I dried it (big mistake) and it didn't work. Put it in the oven @ 100* for a few hrs. Got it out and turned it on, everything worked except the screen, and I think that's because I turned it on when it was wet.
The rice idea sounds good too

My phone went through a wash and dry cycle in the pocket of my pants...I found it like 2 days later at the bottom of the laundry basket and it works fine still. No rice for me.

I just let it air dry.

I would love to see if this works. Water is my worst enemy when it comes to phones, ive lost 2 to the ocean, one to my friends pool(drunk dive fully clothed ahah) and one to a glass of water that was next to my bed..
