Well I haven't been as active on here recently due to a lot of stuff happening. I just submitted my final thesis, so when that gets approved, I'll be a full fledged Electrical Engineer! w00t!
Anyway, Its been my goal to get down to warmer weather for a while now. I've had enough lake effect snow for a lifetime. I pretty much have 2 job offers in Austin right now to choose from. Its going to be a tough decision. Advertising myself on Facebook really helped! So, my GF and I are planning to leave on Feb 28. That should put us down there late on March 1st.
Here's what are trip looks like. Anyone live along the route?
Don't expect to see much from my project log for a month or two while I get settled, but I am going to take care of a few things before I go. Purchased a magnaflow cat and 3 stainless O2 bungs. I'm going to get all of them welded in so that Zero will finally run right and I can have my wideband running. No more shitty O2 mounting towards the ground to get clipped off.

That's freakin awesome man, you must be feeling good. I don't know about you but at times it felt like there wasn't any light at the end of the tunnel.
Hopefully I'll be able todo the same in the June. I have the job offer, I just need to get through the last of my courses in the spring.

Thanks everyone. I'm pretty stoked about the move. It can't come soon enough. My company here in MI I'm consulting for actually announced 2 weeks ago they are shutting down in June and shipping production to China!
John - I actually want to check out the Northwest some time. I've never been west of Colorado.
neonpla - for sure man. Looks like there are quite a few people down there on 2gn.
Steven - Thanks dude.
LionheartedSXT - Good luck with finding one man. I had a hard time with mine at first too. It really helps to show off anything you do in your space time that could count as experience.
Chris - No point B this time hehe. I was looking in the Maryland/Virginias/Carolina area for positions, but you guys get a lot of snow too it seems.
Dave - Man, I can't wait to get out of the Midwest. Its been great an all, but I really need this change lol.
Kevin - Good luck dude! I felt like I've been in school forever. I'm actually considering UT for a master's in the future. they have some pretty cool programs.
Fan - Dude I Freaking love the beach. We have some really nice ones here in Holland, but they're only nice for like 3months :-/
contagious18 - I'm pretty glad I went EE.
ahh, back to work.. Thanks again everyone else.

Congrats Chad.
I've been told that Austin is the Live Music Capitol of the World.
Everynight there are tons of bands playing live all over the city.

I live 5 minutes from step 9 off of step 8. (I'm a few miles past 57 on i-80)
You may want to take your break there because 57 south is a boooooring drive...

What industry do you plan to work in? I fell in love with the power utility side during my co-ops. Idk if I'll go for my masters in EE if anything I will go for my MBA since the company I will be working for pays for most of it. Are you going to go for your PE?

Congrats... AWESOME.
I've been to Austin before, I thought it was Awesome and I can't wait to visit again.
Hell, I wanted to bring the state of TX. back home to lousy IL. with me !!

Austin is NOT bad, as far as the heat goes.
Even when it was 95 deg.F.outside.... it's a dry heat.
At night, it would still be in the low 80's, but because it was dry, I was not uncomfortable and I was able to sleep pretty good.
You'll love it.

Please tell me you mistyped "dryheat"
Because there is nothing dry about the heat in Texas. Either that, or you haven't been West.

Thanks again for the best wishes everyone!
Derek - Yeah dude, hit me up some time. If you're looking for maybe an intro class, it doesn't hurt to try an electronics course @ CC; That's how I got into it
Nathan - Def man. By the looks of things we'll have to do a little get together bash for Texas 2gners.
Frank - That's what I'm seeing too. SXSW is like 1 week after I move down there. Just all of the amazing cultural stuff to do has got me super excited.
Kevin - I'm probably going to stay in the touchscreen industry. My other choice is a museum design firm. They're working on the new expansion to the dallas science museum. I really want to get into RF wireless. That's why I'm looking at UT's masters program. I do plan on getting my PE in case I want to do contracting. I think the FE exam is coming up in April?
Anthony - Dude if we start hanging out I might become a forum asshole, then my car will get smashed by some crazy driver. lol I was actually looking in the SA area for a job too.
Dry Heat, Wet heat? As long as its warm I'll be happy

I actually compared dewpoints of here and there for July. Looks to be about the same, so that's cool.

he must have centex confused with west texas, az and nm.... centex gets fucking hot and humid in the summer im talking 100deg for weeks at a time but it's really not that bad compared tot he 130-140 i saw in Iraq. You will get use to it and learn to love it bro.
