Drove the SRT today for the first time this year! Stopped at Discount Tire for a pressure check and then filled up at Shell to remain in their Fuel Rewards program. There is just one Shell station in my county and it is not convenient to get to. Plus, they do not have a public washroom. I'll post a link to their website but I don't recommend buying gas there.

Congrats! It must have been a heck of a good feeling being behind the wheel and "tooling" down the highway of your srt!
I however just keep my fingers crossed that nothing serious happens with our Journeys and my Lucerne until REAL SPRING gets here and I can start with the after winter maint. on them
Lucerne
oil change ,brakes struts, rear abs wire harness
'11 Journey
A/c, power seat stopped working, valve cover gaskets
'13 Journey
RF tpms, fog light bulbs, find/fix rattle sound in front end
'14 Journey
oil change and tires{expensive 19"rims}

I just wish that I had another $400 so that I could afford to go back with Hagerty insurance. I worry all of the time I'm driving about what might happen.

Why waste the extra money. At this point if the srt was involved in a accident they would just total it out. Because there's no way they will find replacement oem parts like you want for it.Midnight_Rider wrote:I just wish that I had another $400 so that I could afford to go back with Hagerty insurance. Hagerty offers declared value insurance. For the additional $400, I would receive $25K for a total and get to keep the car for part out. That's why I wish that I could afford it.

No, the $400 is on top of what I am paying at Auto Owners. Hagerty only insures for 12 month contracts.

yeah I get that. $400 on top of what you are currently paying. Like everything else, Insurance has gone up. My record is still squeaky clean and I am paying $557 every 6 months for the 2023 Elantra N for full coverage and a $500 deductible. Went up around $100 every six months from last year. . Might raise the deductible to save some money. But we got some big storms coming soon.

Re: Random posting
LOL ! You guys should try and pay New York state's auto ins. rates
My Lucerne has $500. deductible Comprehensive with full glass and NO collision and costs $340 every 6 months. On the same policy the '13 and '14 Journey's have minimum liability and cost 50. more EACH for 6 months.... Bottom line on my policy is almost $1,100 /6 months and my wife and I have PERFECT driving records!
To put collision on the 3 and bump the Journey's up to match the Lucerne would cost me double what I pay now! Which would equate to $4,000 per year for the 3 cars!

Re: Random posting
I forget what we're paying now, $225 a month? I have full coverage on the F250 and the SRT-4, and comprehensive on the 2 wagons, my minivan, and the daily white neon. I guess I'm lucky because we live in a semi rural area, but it's still kind of expensive for us. I actually turned the plates in on the NYG because I wasn't driving it just so I could drop it off the policy.
I need to do axles on the white car this weekend. I was feeling a lot better, but my back started to bother me this morning. I'm hoping I was just a normal sore, and not the epidural shot wearing off. The nerve pain meds I was on were giving me weird side effects with my hands and my gout.
In other news, Jerry 3's Christmas computer died, I finally got the motherboard sent off to the manufacturer and hopefully they can repair it. A few months ago, I'd bought a "server computer" board for $40 off facebook marketplace. It basically had 2 cpus (Xeon 5670) linked on one circuit board, and 36GB of ram installed. So, 12 cores, 24 threads, but only 3.3GHZ. I cobbled it together, and modified a 1990's computer case to house it. I had to modifiy the power supply output because the board had 2 power supply inputs, but it wasn't that had. I should solder it eventually, but the scissors and tape job did it for now. I'm going to eventually use that for my video processing setup, and switch my desktop computer to either just using for games, or gifting it to my youngest so they can play some games.

We're at almost $1300/6 months for full coverage on my Ram and Pacifica.
Annoying it keeps going up when we have zero claims. I need to shop around again. Last time I did with GABI there wasn't anything to really gain.
Happy Pi Day!!

brother sent me a link to a very clean, well maintaned low mileage 5 speed white covertible lebaron GT 1989 with the 2.5 turbo. Think it was only rated at like 150hp though LOL. They were asking 8500 for it. How well do those 2.5 turbo motors hold up

Re: Random posting
They hold up rather well, the only thing is sometimes the valve stem seals need replaced, but they aren't *too* difficult to get changed. If you take it to a reputable shop, they can replace them without pulling the head. That's even if it's an issue. Other than that, they are a really stout motor that is really easy to work on, I enjoy them a lot.MyNeonSaysHi wrote: ↑Thu Mar 21, 2024 1:11 ambrother sent me a link to a very clean, well maintaned low mileage 5 speed white covertible lebaron GT 1989 with the 2.5 turbo. So I have 2 higher end camears, the Canon C300 Cinema Camera, and a Canon 5D MKII that's a very good DSLR that can take video. Well, I managed to get a hack software (magic lantern) for the 5D2, so it can now take 10bit video at slightly higher than 1080p quality video, pushing it higher than what the C300 is technically able to do since it takes 8 bit video. I will say, the C300 has a ton of features that the 5D doesn't, like built in ND filters, and can get higher ISO without having too much noise, but having movie quality features in a handheld DSLR is really something. I took some test footage the other day that I don't have the link to now, but I'll send it here later today. The 5D2 came out in 2008, and the C300 I think was from 2011. Between the two cameras I have about $520 wrapped up in them, which is still miles ahead of what a newer mirrorless camera would run me.

Re: Random posting
The biggest issue with the 8 valve heads is they crack between the intake and exhaust valves. Which can leak coolant into the combustion chamber.
Nearly every 2.2/2.5 engine we had developed cracks. Not all leaked, about half did.
The best one was the Lebanon GTC, at 69,999 miles sitting at the dealership, I cranked it over, it nearly hydrolocked, fired up, and billowed smoke all over the parking lot. Sales people/service people came swarming thinking something was on fire.
I tossed them the keys and told them they had some warranty work.
At least now there's the 16 valve head to replace it with.

Yeah it's getting a lot more fun, but honestly I got into photography and doing video stuff so I can get into doing better stuff with my cars. So, I need to figure out what I can do on my cars while still recovering, and video that lol.MyNeonSaysHi wrote: ↑Fri Mar 22, 2024 5:18 pmHahaha thats funny ^^^

Anyway, here's the test video. I hadn't figured out how to grade video on my own at first, and then I did, so there's some examples in there.

Proud papa moment, one of my daughters has really taken to gymnastics and she joined the local gym's team last year at the Xcel Silver level. We attended 5 or so meets this season and she qualified for the state competition and was selected by her gym to represent them this weekend at the Xcel Silver State Competition. So much growth in just one year.
I've been working some extra hours to help out our shop, rather than just my office role, to fill some short term gaps with labor. About 15 hours a week or so. Forgot how good it feels to make stuff.
