Now I wish I didn't bother taking some of the aftermarket stuff off! It will be washed, vacuumed, oil changed, battery trickle charged, and totally ready otherwise by the time you get here.

The Shadow ES pumper wheels are still on it. Would you be interested in taking the original 7-spoke SXT wheels too? I have no use for them. Two are rashed and two are showroom shape. I took them off when the car had less than 30k miles.

I mean, I’m willing to take anything you’re up to give. The 7 spokes would be nice on my 98 beater I got from Don.

Almost sixty degrees today. This weather is crazy. It's supposed to cool off next week, but holy shit. It sure feels warm out there. For December.

So we flew up Saturday and picked up Jonny’s car, hung around with him and his family for a while, went into Boston and hung around Saturday and Sunday, saw fuzzy last night on the way home and got home around 3:30 this morning. Car was great the whole ride, we easily did 500 miles and it didn’t skip a beat and got 35MPG. The only thing we did was buy a Bluetooth receiver/FM transmitter so we could listen to music. A great weekend and an awesome car. Thanks again Jonny!

Sounds like a fun trip. Haven't heard from Fuzzy in a long while.

Fuzzy had some stuff going on, but he’s back to being around. Still mostly on Facebook.

Jerry, apparently your collection is going to be consisting of 2GN members old cars....lol

Yeah, 5 our of the 6 I currently have came from enthusiasts lol. 4 came from 2gn people, and the other one, my NYG came from a girl who owned the car before 2gn.org was a thing. I just realized it’s been 10 years now that I’ve owned my NYG.

Jerry, you had a double post so I deleted the second one. Hope that was okay.

I'm glad that you are "adopting" these Neons. Too many other people don't think of them as anything special but you do so they will get good care.

Man I am so glad to see that car go to someone like you Jerry. I was having a hard time saying goodbye, but to know that you flew up here to buy it, sight unseen, no tools with you, and not only drove it home, but took the damn thing on tour while you were at it... that's good stuff right there. It's old and it's far from perfect, but I have never questioned that car. I hope it's good to you. Sounds like it's off to a good start.

I'm initiating the official "I'm Going To Drive My Neon Until Jerry Buys It" club. I think this makes me member #5. But does the "5 out of 6" you mention include Scott's motorsport edition?

This should replace the "I'm gonna drive my Neon 'til it dies Club"

So I never posted on the boards about it but Christy had kinda wrecked Scott’s car twice. Once she bent a Motorsport wheel and a tie rod, and got it high sided on an island in a parking lot.

So I’m thinking about doing this to Jonny’s old car so she can just do whatever she needs to. And maybe get my buddy to build a bull bar for it.

You'll have to take it up the Jeep hill at Carlisle!

Dooo eeet. Those sway bars you were talking about would do you well with a setup like that.

Damn, if my old steelies weren't so rusty, that would have given you the wheels you needed.

I think the steel wheels you had were 14’s. I’m gonna need 15’s for this. I’ll probabkt get some cheap Basset wheels.

Also I don’t think off reading and big sway bars work well together.

Also there is a gambler 500 race coming up in the fall. So I might actually go through with it.

Well, talked it over with the wife again, she wants to keep the car kinda stock as it is, since it gets great gas mileage and she drives kind of far twice a week.

SO, maybe I'll lift the iris sedan using some leftover 2gn parts I have.

Bought a PT with 131k miles on it for $200 3 weeks ago we’ve put 3k miles on it so far and I put $138 in brakes on it last night. I used to tag on these but it’s actually kind of nice to drive.

I seriously considered a black 5-spd GT years ago. They make great sleepers.

I considered buying one of these when they were new, but didn't like the interior.

I found this on the web and I know that it has probably been posted here before but I hadn't seen it prior and got a good giggle when reading it.

"During its Senior year the Neon began hanging around an unsavory crowd of tuners that spent its time smoking tires on the street. The car developed an identity crisis, refusing at times to be called Neon and adopting the foreboding alphanumeric nomenclature "SRT-4". It had developed an addiction to force-fed air, which allowed its new 2.4L four-cylinder to develop unnatural amounts of power (215 and eventually 230 hp) and a 0-60 time of 5.8 seconds. The car was going nowhere fast. The SRT-4, as it demanded to be called, became a bully that routinely beat up on other small cars more refined and mature than it. Perhaps to their child's detriment, the SRT-4's parents, Daimler and Chrysler, turned a blind eye to the car's activities and let it run wild."

ROFL ! ...That's a good one :)
Nice to see that there actually is some activity here in this Forum, being a "noobie" here I had my wonderings. I'm VERY ACTIVE on an AVENGER site for my 98 coupe model even though the sites main focus is for the 08 - 14 SEDAN models

Glad that you liked the quote. Wish I had come up with it myself but I found it on an old srt4orums (spelling?) thread.
