Well I'm looking to make my own custom snake/ any other animal enclosure and i was wondering what clear material I could use that would be relatively easy to cut/work with as well as deal with the heat from UV and heat lamps. The materials that come to mind are plexiglass, acryllic, and if i was feelin realy baller i could prolly try something with glass. If anybody has any materials that they suggest please let me know, thnx.

I make all mine with glass. Lowes will cut it for free and they are pretty cheap.
Here are some pics of the Vivs ive made for my Geckos and Poison Dart frogs

^^^Those are badass!!! I miss my geckos

Like said above, glass is probably going to be your best bet.

I'd say glass. There's bound to be ppl in your area who can cut it exactly to your specs. It's cheap and looks way better and clearer than most plastics. Also it's easier to keep clean, and is altogether less work to maintain good looking
I've used aluminium corner profiles, filled them up with a rubber pad and simply slide it in. Believe me, it really looks quite fancy with the aluminum!! Though i can imagine it's not suitable for all interiors, then you might want to switch to steel profiles which are cheaper. you can simply (spray)paint them in a desired colour.
Unfortunately i don't have any pics, i've sold the damn thing and until i find a bigger house, my scaly friends won't be coming back

I'm going to go look at prices for materials in a few but im definitely thinking about glass. Something that's been bugging me though, whenever i tell people that i have a pet that's not a fish they automatically assume its a snake. I told my apartment complex i had pets ( 3 scorps, a frog, and ONE snake). The next day i had to call the office again for some reason and the girl referred to me as "the guy with all the snakes". Anyway, thnx for all your suggestions and ill make sure to post up pictures if/when i get this project underway.
