I found a Srt-4, 04' 16K miles, Nothing wrong with it... $14,500
Should I?
I did a progressive quote on the srt copared to my sxt, only 20 or so a month difference.
I owe around 5K on my sxt... Jeeze I dont know what to do!
I imagin it would cost me around 270 a month for payments...
Agian I ask, Should I?

Less than 2 years left on the SXT loan vs a SRT with a new loan of $19,500 @ a minium of 5 years........Fuck that!
Not worth it. I bet you haven't called your insurance Company either. That will increase a ton also unless you have a perfect driving record, married and over the age of 27. If you have these you'll be ok. If not......get out the anal ease!
Keep the SXT unless you like to lose $$
I ran into the same delima 2 years ago. Mine was buy a house or buy a SRT? I now own a nice home with a garage to work on my SXT instead

How do you get 19,500 for an srt?
My sxt is worth 7K to a trade and with what I owe, That would be more then taken care of. It would be a loan of only around 12,500 which was less of a loan then I had on my Daewoo...
No I didnt call the insurance company, Im already paying 220 a month for my sxt, I dont see it going up that much farther... Like i said, progressive quoted me at a slightly lower rate then my current, then raised only 20 bucks for the srt model. I stick with allstate for the reputation and cheap home owners insurance.
I got over 900 bucks back on my loan when I cancelled my warranty, plus Ive been paying on it for a year now.
Id like to know where you got the 19,500 though?

Good lord, That would be a high freakin intrest rate!

Do what you like best. IF you want to get one, I say go for it.
Having a nice vehicle that we want is what makes working worth it.
We're looking at starting all over again with our truck and getting the SRT-10. It's not final yet, but something we both want. It's not economical, or for kids, or the dog. Just something for my hubby and I to have fun in.
It all just depends on what you want it for.

...well with the $12,500 price, that's about 19.99% - and if he figured the cost was $14,500, then his figure is based on a 12.99% rate ... and those are common rates people get for car loans...
and never forget that although your vehicle is worth $7000.00 (more i think), the dealer won't give you that much (at least they don't want to)

Ugh... not really. Those are more like credit card rates. (In Iowa) On new, I typically get 4.75-5% and on my used around 7-8%.

i work for a company called Dealer Financial Systems Inc. during the day (i thank them for my internet access

) - i do loan brokering for them and i close loans for people at the lots and such ... i've made deals with interest rates ranging from 4.5% to 36.99% - it all depends on your credit, and with our countries further declining of credit scores throughout ... the most common rates i see here when i'm doing loans are between 12.99% and 18.99%
thank the lord my car is at 5.00%, i'd be pissed

Ok....Here's kb9qdi's break down.......
Kbb.com trade value on a 03 SXT 5spd is 6,300 max in perfect condition fully loaded.
Say you owe $7,300 on your car now and they give you $6,300 on trade. That leaves $1000.00 to add to the loan amount plus tax and title amount that will total arround $1000.00 at say.....6.19% if your super lucky. Used car rates are usually higher.
That has you buying the car for $14500.00 + $1000.00 you still owe on your car + $1000.00 in taxes/title fees that total $16500.00 borrowed.
$16500.00 for 60 mo. @ 6.19% comes to $320.45 per month at a total of $19,227.06 in payments over 5 years.
A used 2004 used SRT is worth $14500.00 MAX trade in value now and the value will only go down from here.
If you are cool paying $19k+ for a car only worth $14k go for it.
KBB.com has a payment caluclator on ther site. It's a good source to figure out payments. Figure on your payment always being arround $20 per thousand borrowed. So $16.5 x $20 = $330.00 rough payment depending on intrest rates.
It's your money. I'm just telling you it's not worth it. Keep your SXT,pay it off in less than 2 years then trade it/sell it and buy a SRT if you still want one.

KBB=crap anywhere will tell you NADA is what they go by
Both my current car loans are at 6.25%
No hijack worries here whore this post up all you want

lol....sounds familiar....
No credit,No down payment...I got into an 03 SXT at 17% interest through DCx financial. After 1 year my 02 R/T showed up and I re-financed through the UAW credit union at 5% interest...
My 03 SXT at 7k miles was mint and worth only $7k. even though after interest and payments I'd pay $18k. I got my R/T at an even trade value wise and now im only paying $13k....what sucks is the car is still only worth $7k...

Ok....6.25% is even higher than 6.19% I figured it out at!!
Hell.....NADA only values it at $7,100.00 max if your lucky.
Say you buy the car for $14,500 plus your tax/title fees @ 6.19% and they pay off your car.
You'll be borrowing $15,500.00 @ 6.19% for 60mo.
Even then you'll still pay at least $300.00 a month with a total of $18,000+ when your 60mo term is up.
Do you want to pay that for a car that isn't worth it now or ever? If you do...go for it....Lose away, I don't care.
Again......It's your life, your money and your decision. I'm just telling you the facts, not whoring this post up
Don't ask people "What to do" if you don't want to hear the truth/facts

the way is see it....... is it worth it to you?
you might end up paying 20 grand, but if your cool with it, why not?
but then again, you are only 20... and hopefully you have plenty of years left in your life to get a better deal.

No problem. I've just been down this road many times and don't like seeing dealers ass rape people for a car that they want, not need. I understand wanting a SRT over a SXT....I am/was in the same boat 2 years ago when buying my SXT. I still have a very nice car and don't beat it like I would a SRT. If you have the power you will use it and more than likley you'll break something or get a ticket playing on the street. We've all been there
Turbo cars will alway be there and when the time is right to buy one I will. Thats how I look at it. You'll laugh at me now but as you get older you'll find that things like this are less important and you'll find yourself spending your money on your house, wife and kids.....not you car so much. (You'll just be hiding it from your wife then)
Just don't let me catch ya rambling on and on like me in the post

AH! I've looked looked at that little booger! I just talked to the guy. They haven't sold it yet. They are open from 9-3 tomorrow. LOL. He said that it's a hennesy (sp) edition. I'm not familiar with that, and I think the low price is due to the lack of his knowledge of the vehicle. He told me he didn't know a whole lot about the car.

if i were you i'd request a carfax report from the dealer just to be sure all is good, especially with an asking price like that with such low miles ... either that or spend the ten bucks it costs to get one on your own - they've saved me before man
i'm not trying to put down your hopes for this car, i'm just saying be careful and if it's all good - more power to you and congratulations

Henessy is like Saleen, sperate companies from Dodge and Ford (respectivly). The Henessy Viper is a twin turbo beast with something on the lines of 800 horsepower on the lowerend tune and 1000+ on the better tune.
