First off, me and my wife are expecting. This is my first child, but my wife's 3rd.

Now my question: Will it harm a child to ride in a lowered vehicle? I am starting to daily my 95 ACR, which is lowered on sprint springs. I'm worried about a potential hazard for the child from bouncing around in the car like it is right now. I mean, I can ride him/her around in my 05, but I was thinking about selling that car.

Any input?

Btw, sonogram picture, done 3 weeks ago, next week we are getting another sonogram at 16 weeks.

I've had my nephew in the car, shortly after his surgeries (2 before he was 1) and my neice who was 4-5 at the time. As long as the carseat is secure and they are buckles, I don't think it's much different. Obviously you don't want to swerve hard, etc... and of course we avoid that harsh bumps anyway. The difference from stock feel to lowered (dumped on coils that are stiff & Tokico w/ Pro-Kit) was not much on an average drive / road. He's almost two now and riding in my car is no different than anyone else's to him.

idk if it would matter or not with the lowered car.

i rode my 1st boy around in my car, lowered on sportlines and it was bumpy as hell. he is fine, well mean as shit but seems to be ok lol

Nah, I think your kid will be fine; just no off-roading. Congrats on the baby mod. I don't think I've gotten to tell you that yet.

Congrats. As long as you're not driving like a mad man off road or jumpin the car u should be fine. The baby is well protected inside the mom's belly. The doctors are more concerned about blunt force to the belly like in a God Forbid accident or something like that. Good luck with your new baby and a exciting time in life.

Keep the mom happy. !!! Pregnant women are the closest things to serial killers when they are mad. Lol.

Its a "short" time for the pregnancy so keep the car, just don't drive your wife around in it?????

To me it sounds more like the child itself. The baby is more than protected inside the womb, no worries there.

Children are much more resiliant than you may think. They can withstand impacts, like car crashes, better than adults. The extra vibrations from the stiffer suspension will just lul the baby to sleep most of the time. This will be good and bad

Dan's car is probably lowered more than the majority of this forum and he says that his daughter loves his car.

Doctors recommend not riding motorcycles or horses when you're pregnant but I think a lowered car is ok since there's not direct contact to the lady bits.

I think he is worried about shaken baby syndrome from the bumps. I guess if you travel over a lot of frost joints, and the baby's head is not secure, it can be something to worry about.

But then the way some of these ppl I see lugging the carrier across parking lots, bangin' the thing against their leg with every step.... But again, I don't see those kids when they are 5 years old to see how well they've faired.

At the least, you are concerened, it seems to be much more than some parents. I would discuss it with her Doc, for his/her opinion.

i have two kids and lowered cars for both with no problems, my youngest is autistic but i highly doubt its from the suspension.

Yeah duder don't worry about the baby. Kat rode in my car as it sits the entire pregnancy and you drove my car so you know what 3.5 inch drops feel like. Lol. Your springs will be NOOOO where near as harsh as people claim my car is. Airbags and front end collisions are your only concern. And that isn't a problem cause you can drive. Also had the side exit at the time so it was loud too. Samara would get excited in my car now and inuetero. If you or anyone have any questions feel free to ask. Babies ain't that damn hard.

my daughter fell instantly asleep in my deep ass convertible drivingon bad roads. and she still loves it like the car jumps over uneven roads...

Thanks Dan, don't know why I didn't ask you in the first place! We don't know yet, we will be finding out Wednesday if the baby cooperates (we will be around 16 weeks then). She knew for sure with the first two pregnancies what she was having, and she doesn't know right now. I figured the baby would be okay, but I might take some advice off of .org and wait until the baby is around 6 months before he/she rides in the NYG. I'm not worried about it while baby is still in the momma. Riding around in that amniotic fluid isn't going to put a lot of shock/stress on the baby.

Yep, I currently have a 10 year old step daughter, and a 13 year old step son. I've been with my wife for 6.5 years. The father isn't really in the scenario either anymore.

Lol, thanks Bill. My stepson just turned 13. Strangely enough, we seem to be getting along better. My stepdaughter already claimed this car as hers for when she turns 16. She mentioned she wants to learn how to race. I'm biting my finger nails now.

I added a poll, we are getting a sonogram done Wednesday. We should be at 16 weeks, so we could potentially find out if it's a boy or a girl. My wife knew with her first two what she was having, but she is clueless right now. I'm not sure what to think either. Vote, the poll closes in 2 days.

I vote boy. No real reason I just always wanted a boy myself lol but i need a wife first
