I'm considering swapping my iPhone out for a Droid now, actually.
The iPhone is pretty cool, but it freezes up a lot on me (I'm on my 2nd one already) and you are limited to whatever apps Apple will allow you to have, which sucks balls.
The Verizon plans are cheaper than AT&T's too. For the exact same plan as i have with AT&T, I can save 8 dollars a month on VZW.
I just need to sell my iPhone and I'll have a Droid within 2 days.

Sean, look again. Verizon and AT&T have been the same for like 4 years now. Anytime one does something, the other does it too. The only difference is in corporate discounts, and they are usually within 2% anyway.

I know. But that is when signing a complete new contract. Plus you might not have a warranty through verizonTheRandom1 wrote:I could get a Droid brand new right now for 20 bucks.

It seems Verizon has better coverage in rural areas compared to AT&T. That is at least what I see since I carry an AT&T phone and a Verizon phone all the time.

I'm goofing around with the backflip for the night. Seems ok so far, but the blackberry really did so many things right, it's hard to get used to. The capability is great, but the stuff i use most often is taking longer to get to, and that makes me nuts.

Verizon is "supposed" to be getting the iphone sometime, but who knows when that will happen. If the droid is just as good I will just get it now.
Thanks
you do know that you can use an ATT iphone with verizon right? you wont have all the features but for the most part the iphone will work with verizon.. google jailbreak and yes this program works a x coworker of mine used it.

Yeah, it possible but that a good way to fuck yourself if you don't do it exactly right.

That's cool and all, but I am curious to see how you're going to use a GSM phone on a CDMA network. That's like trying to use a CB to talk to airplanes.

Exactly. You cannot use an ATT iphone on verizon network. Iphone's use a sim card, whereas verizon phones do not.esteinmaier wrote:That's cool and all, but I am curious to see how you're going to use a GSM phone on a CDMA network. That's like trying to use a CB to talk to airplanes.

Exactly. People always say they use these phones on other networks. SIM cards don't work on CDMA phones. Plain and simple. Hacking is FTL. I wanna buy a phone and just use it, and buy "apps" and shit. Not dick with it to be cool or make it different.
I still make calls with my phone, though
