As some of you know, my wife and I work for a Subaru dealer that was, until a year ago, also a Dodge dealer. Since Chrysler pulled the franchise from us, the dealer has been trying to get by with just the one franchise. Normally this wouldn't be a problem, but since the new car floor plan was financed through Chrysler financial, we no longer had money to buy new cars.
Long story short...2 months ago the dealer declared bankruptcy. Another company is interested in buying the dealership which would allow the dealer to conduct business as usual. The final date for the courts to decide on the sale of the dealership was last Thursday. On Wednesday they informed us that the date had been moved to June 3rd. The dealership had next to no money left to conduct business till then, so 10 jobs were eliminated (ours included).
The bright spot is that it is very likely that we will be able to get our jobs back when the new owners get settled in. It does suck that we had to be let go after staying with the company through the very tough times, but it was purely a financial reason that I understand fully. These next few weeks will be tough however

Anywho, I just thought I'd let folks know what is going on. Thanks for looking
