What gym do you go to?

So I've mostly been a fan of working out at home, but at this point I have most maxed out my ability to get an intense workout with what I have at home. Don't feel like buying more weights or a home gym. Never been a fan of gyms, only because I can't see myself using it enough to be worth the monthly fee, but I thought I'd give it a try. So what gym do you go to? Why do you like it? Etc..
Thanks!

Forgot about Planet Fitness.. hmm. Also forgot about the small business gyms. I believe there is one around here I saw advertising for 1$ a day, no monthly payments. It was most likely gonna be LA fitness for me..
The problem about gyms and northern new jersey though... GUIDOS. EVERYWHERE.

There is a kettlebell or some shit gym locally that people like. Pretty intense workouts from what I've seen. Idk what it costs though.

Golds gym ftw, it may be expensive but its a much larger and has a better environment to work out in than the cheaper places.

Also not a fan of gyms... I'm pretty sure there are plenty of decent folks there but also a good number of meatheads.
If you are looking to build muscle and go the body building route then you pretty much have no choice but to do the gym thing. If you just want to stay in shape then it should be possible on your own... but I would not be lifting heavy without a coupla spotters.
Pick a few in your area that you are interested in and ask for the tour during a busy time... that should be enough to help you make up your mind.

I workout at work.
I am a moving and delivery guy now and I carry and move large/heavy furniture 6 days a week so I don't do the gym (why pay for a workout when I can get paid to do so.)

I go to Fitness 19, they're well equipped, especially for the price, and it's only a couple miles from my house.

Viewing that video reminded me of something.
My boss is a former contest winning body builder who used to use nutritional supplements heavily.
Now it has been discovered that the concentration of lead in his system is literally off the chart.
He is still trying to figure out where that came from... undisclosed ingredients on nutritional supplements he used to take is one of the items on his suspect list for the moment.
Given supplements are unregulated... who knows what kind of crap lands up in them that is undisclosed.

I am a beachbody coach that hosts at home programs like p90x, insanity and other programs. If your interested you can check them out at
www.beachbodycoach.com/xdudeitsliz I have been using turbo jam and chalean extreme and have lost 42 pounds. Eric has done two weeks of insanity and it kicked his ass hardcore. That program is intense but the results are awesome. Also, the obvious, p90x.. everybody has heard of it and I have seen videos on youtube for results for that. Honestly, if you don't want to invest in a gym, get some GOOD at home programs.. I can tell you one thing, I don't think I am renewing my gym membership this year because I have all these programs at my house and I have lost more weight at home with them that at the gym for the last 6-7 years.. Just my .02
like i said, let me know. I have a wealth of knowledge in this head of mine after doing this for 6 months and dropping that much weight.. lol and having muscle I never thought possible.. I got some big shoulders and biceps now.

Planet Fitness is good if you are starting out but if you are advancing into a more instense scene planet really lacks the free weights you need. The one that is in my town only has the smith machines for bench press etc. and they don't really like people to actually "work out". If you grunt, or set down a heavy weight too hard or even just exert yourself hard they sound an alarm and ask you to stop or get out. The atmosphere is pretty bad for people who want to work out hard, people will just stare at you.
I now go to a local gym called energyfitness (
www.energyfitnessct.com) that is more like a gold's gym and has a much better atmosphere lots of free weights and lifting equipment. A good assortment of cardio equipment too. The guys there are always willing to give you a spot or workout suggestions.
