well things happen for a reason and this happened to me for a reason, not sure what that reason is yet, but im sure ill find out soon enough, just wish it didnt have to hurt so damn much, im not one to take pain meds, i just deal with the pain, but not this shit, im popping the pain meds every 4 hrs and having an ice pack on it for 45 mins out of the hr.
what sucks is i cant even play wii or 360 with my hand like this, shit i cant even type that good ( not that i could before, but even slower now, o well i guess less mistakes when typing now.lol

Did the doctor tell you to apply the ice pack that often? Seems like it's not a good thing for the nerves to be frozen that much.

they told me to ice 20 mins take off and then ice 20 mins and to keep doing that, i asked the therapist if that was bad and they told me that with this type of injury that its good to do so there isnt so much swelling and bruising., ill find out for sure on friday when i go back to the drs.

You should be okay, looks like 1 clean break. I didn't check your profile for age, but the younger you are the quicker you heal...also if you are in good shape that helps too.
That shit will heal.

well i get to go back to work monday lite duty, thank god. 2 weeks with out working sucks ass, any longer and i prolly wouldnt want to go back. well ill post some new pics or the finger and some more xrays that where taken today later on,
they took the stitches out, the dr said i should get feeling back in my finger withing 6 months to a year, he told me today that we got lucky with the nerves and none of them got cut or anything, they are just really really bruised. so i guess that is a good thing.

well i found something out that the dr never told me, i cut my tendon on the finger right in half when the shaft fell on it that is why i am having a problem straightening the finger, also someone at my work is trying to get me fired they are telling the bosses that i got hurt again( that i hurt my finger) when i didnt, if i did that id be done for sure. good thing is i think they believe me when i told them i didnt get hurt, !

by r/tguy02
so did they ever reattach the tendon? hope you can stay working
Posted: Mon Aug 09, 2010 12:02 pm
by cbjones26
ya they fixed the tendon, right now i still cant straighten it, they dont know if i ever will be able to,
i hope i stay working to. if i dont its their loss seeing hows i still work circles around the other summer temps even on lite duty and only using one hand and same goes for about 90 % of the reg full time workers,
the main boss told me though the reason why he brought me back is bc he can tell me go do something and he doesnt have to watch me or go check up on me to make sure im doing the work, and he knows it will get done right the first time with no short cuts. and i get it done fast! so thats a plus.!

normally when a summer temp gets hurt they fire them the same day after they get them to the ER if they need go there. last year there was a temp that cut their finger on a utility knife and had to have 3 stitches that same day they brought him back to work took him in the office and told him he was done. i am the only one that they have not let go that has been hurt ( as far as summer temps )

well i was just cleared to go beck to work full duty starting tomorrow, lets see how honest the boss was about hiring me if i am off lite duty. ill either have a full time 40+ hr week job or will be done sat.
as for the finger it isnt even started healing the bone isnt healed but i asked the dr if i can return to work reg duty and he asked why, told him if im off lite duty ill have like a 90% chance ill get the job if not then i wont have a chance.
so he told me to be careful and the he would release me bc jobs are hard to come by and he knows i want to work

lol...ya im not to sure about this dr, letting me go back to work when its not even healed but i know i can do the work.
but really doesnt matter still dont think im getting hired full time, they have been telling me if i get off lite duty they will hire me.
well guess what im off lite duty and when i told the boss, he didnt really have anything to say. so i think i called his bluff on this one, but ill find out tomorrow i guess, he is going through and having a meeting with all four of us summer temps today and tomorrow and will let us know who is hired .
