Now I have the stock radio setup in a box, and the speakers in their own boxes too.
Its quite simple to accomplish, ill post some pictures tomorrow.
If you wanna do it, heres the simple supply list...
1 AT Computer Power Supply
1 OEM radio harness (can be gotten off ebay for about $5)
2 Speaker Wall Plates (foudn at home depot, lowes, and etc.)
1 Universal Antena (i used a small black flexible one from autozone)
1 Antenna Adapter Universal->OEM (purchased mine from wally world)
appx. 25ft of speaker wire (home depot, lowes, car toys, and etc.)
Speakers
Radio
And heres the how-to
What the power supply is for is to provide the 12volt's needed to power up the radio. Simple take 2 sets of the wires and cut off the molex ends. The red wires wont be used, only the yellow and black. The yellow is the 12volt and the black is the ground. The harness i got from ebay was color coded like the aftermarket harnesses. I will post pics of the harness tomorrow also. The wall plates I used so i dont have to always ahve the speakers plugged up, altho you can set this up to your own prefs.
Ok, heres how to hookup the wire harness...
RED = 12 Volt Ignition (tie this to one of the yellow wires from the power supply)
YELLOW = 12 Volt Memory (tie this to one of the yellow wires from the power supply)
ORANGE = Dash Light (not nessecary, but can be tied into one of the yellow wires)
BLACK = Ground
BLUE = Power Antenna (not used)
[Speakers]
WHITE = Left Front +
WHITE/BLACK = Left Front -
GREEN = Left Rear +
GREEN/BLACK = Left Rear -
GRAY = Right Front +
GRAY/BLACK = Right Front -
VIOLET = Right Rear +
VIOLET/BLACK = Right Rear -
If you choose to put your speakers into boxes like I did which i recomend, make sure you seal the box, and port it. Mine isnt acoustically acurate for the porting, but it serves its purpose.
When hooking up the front speakers, make sure you tie the tweeters to the front speakers.
To make the enclosures for the speakers and radio, you can use your own imagination for it. I just used some wood that was laying around to make mine.
Overall, i spent maybe a total of $30 for all the supplies, and it sounds good, makes for a great cd player too.
if you have any questions just pm or email me
