I have a wheel standing Nova that will make you shit your pants... not so much boring but still shit nonetheless.

if you ever make quarter mile pass in 10 flat and dont get a boner from it or an adrenaline rush like crazy then someone revoked your man card

well in that case my base model neon is in the same class too along with all the hot rods I own right, and our minivan too?

Cool, I can understand that, but that's not how governing bodies, like the SCCA, most people, or even magazines or car tv shows classify cars. Engine layout, drive train, number of cylinders, Cost, Designed intent, etc are all factors in where a car ends up and what it's compared to.
Forest Green 2k wrote:I fully understand that but some people like to jump to conclusions/put words in your mouth.
Who put words into your mouth? You said the STI was overrated and the SRT was faster. Then when I said the two weren't comparable you decided to say I wasn't making any sense. I don't see anywhere where someone put words into your mouth.

haha i still would take the 07 STI that i test drove

but it does depend on the driver and the main thing its gonna be used for. i realized i drive a 04 stx and its not fast so im not going to try to make it fast im gonna go with handling and suspension. thats why i would take a sti, twisties are way more exciting for me and it last longer than a 1/4 mile drag.

Well, I have a 2005 R1 that will make you shit your pants, if you're still wearing them by the time you hit the rev limiter in first gear.

Trust me, I enjoy the straights as much as the next guy. But my bike does almost 200mph, SRT-4 does 160mph and I couldn't give 2 shits about getting there...

Straights get booooooring after a few years.

FYI

They're no AWD or RWD monsters but Neons made their claim to tuning popularity in the first place due to their success in the SCCA and other road coarses, topping their class and out performing more expensive vehicles.

Alright dude, we get it. You're horny for the SRT, cool. Most of the people arguing in this thread with you have been through plenty of cars (including SRTs) and do road races / auto-x so they are legitimately comparing them by the "proper" standards. You win. Love your SRT and GTFO.

....way back in the mid to late 90's. Times change, new competition comes out, and the Neon hasn't been built in 5 years.

Yup, it was popular to use the 1gns because they were just cheap go-carts. The 2gns were never that popular in SCCA, hence the need for the SRT which is a monster, just not an STI-eating monster. But w/e, they're all fun!

I had a crazy busy week and a half. My yard and house looks great now. Had a family picnic yesterday so that means today is super lazy day and I'm playing catchup.

We have been in this house for almost 2 years. We just got fully unpacked, my shed is now here, the back of the lot looks a million times better than before, and every room is now painted.
