It's been a few years now since I've been pulled over. Last time I even dealt with a cop was from my accident in March with my box. Yea, I got a citation, and the cop even apologized for giving it to me because myself and the other driver treated him with as much respect as we all could.

I accepted my ticket, talked about how I could deal with it since I was out of state, and that was that.

Before then, I was pulled over in my cobalt for the tinted cover on my rear plate. I was 500ft from work, asked the copy nicely to quickly go about his business because I didn't want to be late (and pointed where I was going.) Sure enough, he wrote the fastest warning I've ever seen a cop write. I thanked him for not issuing me a citation, and when I got home moved my plate cover to the front of the car instead

Then there was having dark tint. I was nice, and sure enough, didn't even get a warning. Cop just told me that if I'm on his highway again, to have my windows down haha.

Not once if I was actually issued a citation would I have cared. I know what was illegal on the car, and with the xB I'm keeping everything legal for once. I know if I don't someday I'll get ticketed and have to pay. Fuck that noise

Or perhaps I'm making all that up because you're a cop, not quite sure.

Unfortunately, my experiences in Jefferson Parish Louisiana have all been deputies like LowNSlow's assholes at the Sonic drive-in. I think the local sheriff hires only obnoxious morons on purpose.
The cops like FACELESS experienced, would never be hired here. :cussing:

^ Which sucks. I've noticed lately that most officers here truly appreciate their job and meet it's standards. They don't let it go to their head, they don't abuse their power, they don't play the "I'm a cop" card when their off duty. These guys here know what it means to protect and uphold the law, and they are reimbursed for it. Plain and simple.

Last guy I got pulled over by had that "holier than thou" mentality. He was outside of his car, with his back to traffic, yet he could tell it was ME who tripped his radar instead of the mini van that was passing me. Total B.S.

People like that irritate the hell out of me, and I show them no respect. Unless he had eyes in the back of his head, there's no way he saw anything, and he obviously made the wrong call.

Otherwise, cops who do their job properly, I'll give them respect and be polite, even if I really hoped I wasn't caught doing whatever it was I was doing, haha.

Let it be said, most cops I've encountered have had a TERRIBLE attitude and holier than thou attitude and I don't hold cops in high regard. However, when I encounter a nice one I am pleased, and no matter what I am polite and courteous. It's easier to play along and deal with it in court.

speaking of corrupt cops, a pittsburgh cop was just caught shoplifting Harry Potter stuff from Universal Studios. They said if the matter is dealt with by the time he returns to Pittsburgh they won't even discuss it and he will go back to work. corruption ftw!

Hehehe, my cop friend that works security in my office building is cool. He does let people get away with quite a bit, but you should see his Camaro. All sorts of mods that are illegal.

Somehow my bright-orange, clearly-modified car with no front plate has managed to keep me ticket free for over 5 years now. I've been pulled over at least 4-5 times, but never has a citation been issued. I got popped for "driving too fast for conditions", which was like ten over the limit in heavy fog. One cop got me for no front plate, then proceeded to compliment my car and asked whether I autox or not. No fix it ticket, nothing. I can go on and on. It's all about how you drive, how far you push the law, and how you act when the cop talks to you. A little luck never hurt anyone either, and this car is my lucky charm so far.

I always do the same thing when I get pulled over. Window down, keys on the dash, hands on the wheel until the officer comes up to the window, light on if it's at night. I had a mixup twice where I was driving on a suspended license, and had taken care of it, but in the system it was still suspended. It's saved me from getting arrested twice. I haven't got a ticket in a long time though.

There are amicable people and douches in every career track, don't let a few bad experiences ruin your view of the whole :)
