The current cone has it grazing the Carolinas and then making it's way towards NYC. My brother lives in Raleigh and my parents just moved to Charlotte
It's been pretty quite for Hurricanes the last few years.

If it stays like that, I will be happy. Hopefully it stays away from the coast.

I live on Camp Lejeune and we're right on the coast. I'm not at all worried about it. They've sorta-kinda issued an evacuation plan, but nothing serious. My wife lives up in Raleigh and she's lived in NC her whole life. She's not one bit worried either. Got a note the other day stating "Hurricane warning. Ensure you have appropriate emergency equipment, water, and food." et cetera. She's like "what?..." checks the weather and it's sunny all week. rofl.
News is saying that if it does happen to change course and make landfall in North Carolina, it could possibly be as catastrophic as Katrina was. But again, I'm not at all worried. It's a 25 minute drive on base to the beach to see the Atlantic Ocean.

Pretty windy here. Nothing crazy. Had a 2-minute spurt of downpour, but that's been it so far. The NC Outer Banks and coastline has been evacuated. My buddy's got a house along the beach, which is about 75 feet from the water, and it's starting to flood at his stairwell on the back porch. Waves are apparently nearing 20ft high. And I'm staying on base O_O At least the barracks is made of brick! lol. Parked the Neon on higher ground and padded my headlamps with paper towels under the hood (it likes to seep through and fuck with my wires behind the retros).
So here's to hoping that it doesn't decide to head towards NC.

Woot!
Strap a sail to the neon.
(The only way it's gonna hit 130 mph!

)

Enjoy the weather...it hasn't rained around here in 2 weeks. Though I bet if the hurricane made landfall in Quantico, it would be 95 and sunny the whole time.
