FINALLY, I am an official 2gn owner.

Post by Cokedoctor » Tue Sep 28, 2010 9:36 pm

I finally bought my first 2gn on Ebay tonight. I've got goosebumps...not sure what to expect really. I'm leaving tomorrow morning VERY early to drive down to New Hope, PA (near Philadelphia) to inspect / pick up my new Neon.

It's a 2001 Dodge Neon ES 5 Speed...equipped with EVERY single option offered.

Power Windows
Power Locks
Power Sunroof
Power Mirrors
Leather
Cruise Control
Traction Control
R/T Wheels
R/T Spoiler
SRT Rear Exhaust Section

It has some damage to the driver door...I'm not too concerned, I'll replace the door and have my friend paint it to match. :)

Here is a link to the auction I won:

I hate to admit it, but the woodgrain HVAC looks better than I thought they would. Nice deal!

That's not a bad deal. Figure out the CEL, do the Timing belt and water pump, and you'll be good to go.

Very nice car other than the door and the crushed rocker panel on the other side. The price is right though! I have that Alpine IDA x100 iPod HU in my car as well. New raccoon headlights too. Very nice. congrats.

Yeah I'll get the rocker fixed too in due time. It doesn't need to be perfect immediately. I just ask it to run and get better fuel mileage than my Crown Vic does. Hahah

Holly fuck that's a good deal! Damn, I was just in New Hope last Wednesday, awesome little town down on Main Street. Enjoy that thing, the woodgrain and R/T options actually look really nice. Oh, and enjoy the SRT exhaust  if it's too loud, just throw a glasspack in the mid-section to quiet it down.

Congrats man. It looks like a nice starting foundation. I didn't even know they had wood HVAC. I really like it.

Well, I picked up the car, and I just got home. Put 400 miles on it today. Runs great...but the body is a bit banged up more than I expected it to be. But whatever, I paid a cheap price, I got what I paid for I guess. It has 2 CEL codes....

P0601
P1684

Any ideas?

The first is something about the battery being disconnected recently. The second is kind of scary: P0601 ENGINE CONTROL MODULE CHECKSUM ERROR

Thanks guys. I appreciate your motivation to help a member out. If anybody finds anything, PM me. I'm going to borrow a magnum PCM from BlackRoseRacing until I or one of you can find something permanent.
